Mother's Love is a Beautiful Mess: At Mama's Countertop, Where Oregano Meets Paracetamol
The most challenging part of being a mother is when you see your children get sick and you feel like your best isn't good enough.
Hello friends! I hope everybody has a great day.
Today, I would like to share how my countertop has been for the last two weeks. This photo was taken as a reminder to me that these were the days when my son was sick. I am recording his asthma attacks through photos.
Yes! This photo shows how messy my countertop has been for the previous week and this week. My youngest had a fever, and his Asthma attacked again after a year of not having it.
We went to the hospital last Tuesday and came back home on Friday. Those were the days when I felt all the worries and heaviness in the world. I never had enough sleep because of his never-ending cough and high fever, but I had to compose myself and show my son that I was okay.
He had a rigid medication because of some infection also and we had to nebulize him five times a day just to give him some ease of breathing.
But a mother never just relies on the doctor's medication alone. I know some of you can relate to this. We will do everything for our children and find as many ways as we can to cure the illness that our son or daughter is suffering from.
On my countertop, all the possible medicines and stuff were gathered together for me to reach them as easily as I can every time I need them.
Both synthetic and herbal medicines are on my countertop until today, since my son is not yet fully recovered, and he is still on medication. The limes and Oregano (a herbal plant common in the Philippines that is known to cure cough and phlegm), meet Paracetamol, Salbutamol, and Cefaclor. Vitamin C was there too, together with water and a thermometer. Not to mention the blender, the tumblers, the heater, the milk dispenser, and the thermos jar that made things easier for a mother to give her best care and love to her sick son.
The countertop looks too messy and unorganized, yet this scenario shows how a mother's love can be messy sometimes. Messy yet perfectly organized, only mothers know. There's no more unconditional love than a mother's love.

Mom's will do anything for our kid. Even we take care of them they still got sick. We want them to be healthy and try herbal meds. I do the same. In the Pinas we have herbals. Here I dont think so and people rely on doctors. Get well soon kiddo. Take care always. Speedy recovery so you can play. God Bless 🙏🥰
Thank you very much of your kind words maam. I really want to see him go out and play again very soon. Thank you 🙏
Amen 🙏
I hope your son will get better soon! After which, the countertop will be replaced with nice food to eat and enjoy. I wish you and your son well 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much maam. Hopefully, it will be very soon. Thank you again.

When our kids got sick, truly the hardest part of being a mom. It’s hard to watch them uneasy, feeling like you can’t do enough to lessen their pain. But just being there with them, offering your support, is more powerful than you know. Get well soon to your son.
Oregano is the best. It has been my life hack. When my kids caught a cold and cough, oregano helped them heal much better. I only add a handful of oregano leaves, boil it with a little drinking water, and I press the leaves using a fork. I also add calamansi to make it taste better. Even now that they're adults and got sick, I still let them drink it. It has been proven it can cure. ❤️
Nothing compares to a mother's love. I hope your son feels better now and eventually his asthma will be gone as he grows older.
100% relate much mother, I also used oregano when my kids got cough and lemon juice. The very challenging part of being a mother when the kids got sick, we had sleepless nights.
Oregano and kalamansi or lemon are best for hard coughs. This is proven and tested and has been used for generations. Indeed, I had those sleepless nights, and my body is now slowly recovering, just like my son's. Thanks for dropping by, madam.
