(ESP-ENG) Prom day - Photoshoot!

Graduarse es quizás uno de los días más importantes en la vida de una persona, es por eso que ella, Carla, decidió que aquel 17 de noviembre quedara plasmado en el recuerdo con unas fotografías decentes, según yo, y así recordar ese gran camino que la llevó a poder ponerse la medalla y sostener el titulo que la acredita como Odontóloga.

Graduating is perhaps one of the most important days in a person's life, that is why she, Carla, decided that that November 17th should be captured in the memory with some decent photographs, according to me, and thus remember that great path that led her to be able to wear the medal and hold the title that certifies her as a dentist.

Como bien saben la fotografía para mi no es más que pasatiempo, un hobbie el cual hago cada cierto tiempo o cuando llega una ocasión. Para mi hacer fotos muchas veces es como un medio de escape, una manera de distraer la mente del día a día es por eso que dependiendo del tipo de fotografías que se requieran es muy raro que diga que no. Estas en especifico fueron en la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), recuerdo que era un día soleado con una que otra nube que llegaba para tapar la luz solar. A diferencia de lo que cree el sol es el peor enemigo de los fotógrafos, no hay nada que haga que una foto quede mal o "quemada" que el bendito sol.

As you know photography for me is nothing more than a hobby, a hobby which I do from time to time or when the occasion arises. For me taking pictures is often like a means of escape, a way to distract the mind from the day to day, that's why depending on the type of photographs that are required is very rare that I say no. These were specifically at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), I remember that it was a sunny day with a few clouds coming in to block out the sunlight. Contrary to popular belief the sun is the worst enemy of photographers, there is nothing that makes a photo look bad or "burned" than the blessed sun.

Fue un trabajo de casi hora y media, me hubiese gustado que fuera más tiempo pero ella estaba un poco apurada. Las fotos no se pueden hacer rápido, por lo menos yo necesito mi tiempo para pensar y repetir y repetir las veces que sean necesarias hasta que finalmente salga el resultado que estoy buscando y tengo en mente. A pesar de todo estoy contento con lo obtenido, pudo haber sido ligeramente mejor pero el tiempo se nos vino encima.

It was a job of almost an hour and a half, I would have liked it to be longer but she was in a bit of a hurry. Photos can't be taken quickly, at least I need my time to think and repeat and repeat as many times as necessary until I finally get the result I'm looking for and have in mind. All in all I'm happy with what I got, it could have been slightly better but time got away from us.

Para los que no lo saben uso una cámara Nikon D3100 con un lente Sigma 18-200mm. Es un equipo sencillo pero honestamente no necesito más, al no dedicarme a tiempo completo y de una forma más profesional a esto no veo la urgencia de cambiar de cámara o actualizarlo; lo haré en el momento que la cámara me diga que no puede más pero como funciona perfectamente y está bien mantenida seguiremos juntos haciendo fotos.

For those who don't know I use a Nikon D3100 camera with a Sigma 18-200mm lens. It's a simple equipment but honestly I don't need more, as I don't dedicate myself full time and in a more professional way to this I don't see the urgency to change camera or upgrade it; I will do it the moment the camera tells me it can't do it anymore but as it works perfectly and is well maintained we will continue together taking pictures.
