Hola a todos, un placer estar en esta comunidad, estoy lejos de ser una persona novata por estos lados pero cuando uno aterriza en un lugar nuevo lo correcto es presentarse. Mi nombre es Javier, soy fotógrafo y amante de la musica hasta más no poder, a esto se le conoce como melómano pero es que hace un tiempo practiqué la música también, tocaba percusión latina pero aún así se me hace difícil catalogarme como músico. Todo esto lo digo porque mis tatuajes, o la mayoría de ellos van por ese camino, ninguno tiene un significado trascendental pero si están relacionados y van de la mano con las actividades que más disfruto hacer en el día a día.
Hello everyone, a pleasure to be in this community, I'm far from being a newbie in these parts but when you land in a new place the right thing to do is to introduce yourself. My name is Javier, I'm a photographer and a music lover to the max, this is known as a music lover but some time ago I practiced music too, I played latin percussion but still it's hard for me to classify myself as a musician. I say all this because my tattoos, or most of them go that way, none of them have a transcendental meaning but they are related and go hand in hand with the activities that I most enjoy doing on a daily basis.
Como menciono en el titulo cuento con 7 tatuajes, todos en tinta negra y ubicados en el brazo derecho. Esto es así porque más allá de un diseño grande o las muy conocidas mangas prefiero lo minimalistas e irme "llenando" el brazo con cosas pequeñas, de hecho me faltan dos más para dar por terminada con esta idea. Los tengo divididos de la siguiente forma, hasta ahora: tres fotográficos, dos de música y dos un poco más "personales". Desde siempre había querido tinta pero ese primer paso siempre daba miedo o se llenaba de dudas pero una vez lo das la verdad es que no hay vuelta atrás, eso de que uno se vuelve adicto a los tatuajes es una realidad del tamaño de una catedral.
As I mentioned in the title I have 7 tattoos, all in black ink and located on my right arm. This is because beyond a big design or the well known sleeves I prefer the minimalist and go "filling" the arm with small things, in fact I have two more to finish with this idea. I have them divided as follows, so far: three photographic, two of music and two a little more "personal". I had always wanted ink but that first step was always scary or filled with doubts but once you take it the truth is that there is no turning back, that one becomes addicted to tattoos is a reality the size of a cathedral.
Este fue el primero, es un obturador. Esto es como un dispositivo que se encuentra dentro de las cámaras el cual controla el paso de la luz que le llega al sensor, mientras más abierto lógicamente más luz entra, más cerrado menos luz. El diseño que escogí tiene una apertura de F5.6 el cual es el más "estándar", es decir, el más equilibrado en condiciones normales. Quería algo distinto y cuando vi el diseño me llamó a la primera. El segundo fotográfico es un archivo, cual si fuera una foto, con el nombre de TATTOO.PNG; este es un poco más irónico pero original. No es el tatuaje sino el archivo de... Como dije no hay mucha profundidad en ellos, lo mío es más por gustos a primera vista. Este lo tengo justo debajo de la muñeca.
This was the first one, it is a shutter. This is like a device found inside the cameras which controls the passage of light reaching the sensor, the more open the more light logically enters, the more closed the less light. The design I chose has an aperture of F5.6 which is the most "standard", that is, the most balanced in normal conditions. I wanted something different and when I saw the design it called to me the first time. The second photographic is a file, as if it were a photo, with the name TATTOO.PNG; this one is a bit more ironic but original. It is not the tattoo but the file of... As I said there is not much depth in them, mine is more for tastes at first sight. This one is just below my wrist.
Y el tercero es un fotómetro. Esto es lo que se visualiza cuando nos llevamos la cámara a los ojos para hacer la foto, es una medida que nos dice que tan expuesta está una foto, el grado o nivel de luz que hay en ella. Si la marca está en todo el medio es porque la foto está perfectamente expuesta, tiene la cantidad de luz ideal para que salga una foto de calidad. Este lo tengo en la zona del bicep. La fotografía es muy importante para mi y aunque no hay nada profundo en estos tatuajes quise plasmar esta afición y gusto en algo un poco bastante más permanente. En la siguiente foto podrán ver los tres tatuajes en cuestión.
And the third is a light meter. This is what is displayed when we bring the camera to our eyes to take the photo, it is a measure that tells us how exposed a photo is, the degree or level of light in it. If the mark is in the middle is because the photo is perfectly exposed, it has the ideal amount of light to get a quality photo. I have this one in the bicep area. Photography is very important to me and although there is nothing deep in these tattoos I wanted to capture this hobby and taste in something a little more permanent. In the following picture you can see the three tattoos in question.
Los dos siguientes son musicales. Uno es una curita con unas notas musicales en ella y es que la música lo cura todo. Se puede estar teniendo un mal día pero basta con ponerse los audífonos para que todo los problemas pasen a un segundo plano por lo menos mientras disfrutamos de la música. Y el segundo es precisamente unos audífonos (los ven en la primera foto del post). Es como el medio que por lo menos a mi siempre me une a la música, a veces digo que los audífonos ya son una extensión de mi cuerpo porque nunca estoy sin ellos. Otra vez diseños random pero que al final están atados a unos gustos muy particulares míos.
The next two are musical. One is a band-aid with some musical notes on it and music cures everything. You can be having a bad day but all you have to do is put on the headphones and all your problems will go to the background at least while you enjoy the music. And the second one is precisely a pair of headphones (you can see them in the first picture of the post). It is like the medium that at least to me always unites me to the music, sometimes I say that the headphones are already an extension of my body because I'm never without them. Again, random designs but in the end they are tied to some very particular tastes of mine.
Y los dos finales son el nombre de mi abuela y el de mi mamá, las dos se llaman igual y al ser las personas más importantes en mi vida era justo y necesario que las llevara conmigo siempre. Mi abuela ya no está conmigo por lo que la decisión de hacérmelo se hizo más fácil, es una especie de homenaje, quise honrar su vida pero también recordarme que afortunadamente tengo a mi mamá todavía conmigo así es que es un pedazo de las dos. Igualmente un diseño sencillo, no me gustan esos nombres que cubren medio brazo, no es lo mío por lo que escogí la fuente que más me gustó y ya está, el resto fue pan comido.
And the two endings are the name of my grandmother and my mom, they both have the same name and being the most important people in my life it was fair and necessary that I carry them with me always. My grandmother is no longer with me so the decision to make it was easier, it is a kind of tribute, I wanted to honor her life but also to remind me that fortunately I still have my mom with me so it is a piece of both. It was also a simple design, I don't like those names that cover half an arm, it's not my thing so I chose the font I liked the most and that's it, the rest was a piece of cake.
Y para finalizar tenemos un diseño de una cruz que en lo que la vi también me llamó la atención. Le hice unos arreglos pequeños y al final quedó mejor. Soy creyente pero no soy para nada la persona que más practica la religión, pero siento que uno, independientemente de lo que creamos, tenemos que tener algo de fe en la vida, algo que nos permita ser más espirituales; de ahí a que esta cruz esté ahora en mi antebrazo. De hecho todavía se está curando ya que me la hice el viernes pasado, la piel ya está empezando a caer y pica bastante, ya muchos sabrán lo que es eso. Pues nada, estos son mis siete tatuajes, como les dije planeo hacerme dos más en este mismo brazo pero que aún no tengo nada definidos.
And finally we have a design of a cross that also caught my attention when I saw it. I made some small adjustments and in the end it turned out better. I am a believer but I am not at all the person who practices religion, but I feel that regardless of what we believe, we have to have some faith in life, something that allows us to be more spiritual; hence this cross is now on my forearm. In fact it is still healing since I had it done last Friday, the skin is already starting to fall off and it itches a lot, many of you know what that is. Well, these are my seven tattoos, as I told you I plan to do two more on this same arm but I still have nothing defined.

Sabía sobre qué tema los quería pero los diseños no, no fue hasta que los vi que me decidí. Así que sí, hay un poco de azar pero a la vez no, tienes razón.

Oye, me gusta ese concepto que tienes de tus tatuajes. No son una manga, pero se relacionan.
Parece como un álbum de las fotos que uno considera importantes o que decide conservar aparte.
Yo tampoco soy partidaria de las mangas, pero si de ocupar solo una parte del cuerpo solamente y más si los puedo ver sin necesitar un espejo.

Wuaoo que lindos todos tus tatuajes y el significado qué tienen te representan muy bien, son profundos a leer tu explicación.
Me gustan porque al verlos parecen sencillo y dan una leve impresión de su concepto, pero se necesita conocerte para entender su valor.
Las fotos te quedaron lindas y tengo una curiosidad, ¿los tatuajes relacionados con la fotografía, los escogiste juntos o no?

No, los escogí en tiempos distintos. El obturador me lo hice el año pasado, los otros dos a principio de año. Siempre supe que querías algo acerca de la fotografía pero no sabía que hasta que los vi.
