1962 VW Beetle Project --- Part 7

These were taken right before I loaded in on the trailer to take for paint!

I wanted to go with an original 1962 color for this but we were unable to come up with a paint code for the "Brunswick Blue" I was looking at, and decided to go this this Bahama Blue!

I've cleaned up almost every part that came off the body. I'm ready to get this thing put back together!
Sanding sanding and more sanding....
Got all the windows cleaned and the chrome polished (whats left of it) as good as I could.
Took both bumpers apart to clean up.
Several Parts were cracked and about to break completely
Welded the cracked areas, I'm not great at welding, but I did grind off the excess.
It took some figuring out but the washer fluid tank came out and cleaned up pretty ok.
Back to the bumpers, they are pretty chewed up, but if found scrubbing vinegar and bakingsoda with a wad of aluminum foil will get off most of the scratchy bad spots.

Lots and lots of cleanup with a wire brush on the insides of these.
Wire bush air tool makes a world of difference.
A little paint does alot!
Cleaned up and looking half way presentable! New bumpers are like 300$ so these will have to do for now.
This weekend it should be coming back from paint!
It looks so good!
It really depends on the light on how the color looks!
Thank for stopping by and checking it out, next update I should have alot more progress to share!
i think i missed some of the parts, as i remember the first post :D
this thing will look great.
It’s coming along!
