A Yellow-Inspired Session ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’›

In Cuba, we say we live in an eternal summer. Not because it's festive or vacation-like (we rarely get that), but because of the constant heat that never lets up. We donโ€™t really have seasons here. Itโ€™s just hot... or hotter. But sometimes, that same endless summer makes you want to work with bold, vibrant colors that give off energy.

For this session, I wanted yellow to be the main focus. Itโ€™s a color that never goes unnoticed. It has a strong presence and conveys joy, optimism, and brightness. Itโ€™s not a shy color, and I thought it was perfect for a model with such a sweet vibe and a natural smile โ€” especially through her eyes. The way she shows up in front of the camera is relaxed and effortless, which helped the color shine without competing with her.

The sunflowers were the centerpiece. I chose them not just because they photograph well, but because they have a strong visual impact and blend nicely with everything else. Plus, they carry a good energy and fit perfectly with the idea of summer and natural light.

Yellow became the thread that tied everything together. It showed up in the clothes, the accessories, the flowers, and even in the little background details. I used it not just for its look, but to set the overall tone of the session โ€” something happy, warm, and uplifting. The kind of vibe that makes you feel good just by looking at it.

This was a simple and straightforward way for me to work with the idea of summer.

And if you ever feel like doing a shoot like this, just know that yellow is always a great idea for summer.
