Urban Vibes in Pink Graffiti

Today I’m bringing you this photo series with a more urban style.

For this occasion, we went to an area in Central Havana that was painted with this graffiti as part of the 15th Havana Biennial.

The girl’s look was very vibrant, so, as usual, finding the right location was key to getting the best possible outcome. As hard as it may be to believe, she was actually quite shy when it came to posing for the camera, and our main goal—above almost anything else—is to make sure they feel comfortable during the shoot, turning it into a fun experience, not a torturous one that leaves a bad memory. Because photos might eventually end up forgotten in a drawer, but the memories—the feeling of a special day—those are unforgettable.

So we tried to make the most of what she was comfortable giving us, without pushing too hard into bolder poses that the look and location seemed to call for. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to work with what you have and what’s possible, and squeeze the most out of it.

Unfortunately, like so many other places in my city, this spot has already been vandalized, and it doesn’t look as beautiful as it once did. At least we have a few photos left to remember how it was.
