Lines, Light & Leather --MONOMAD--

Hey everyone!šŸ‘‹šŸ˜„

Here’s a session where the goal was to create a look that felt urban, elegant, and understated—with just a subtle retro touch.

The location wasn’t chosen randomly at all. It was carefully selected to frame the model using the geometric shapes provided by the architecture and the ironwork. The vertical and horizontal lines help bring a certain visual order to the image.

There’s no heavy background blur here—just a moderate aperture (f/4.5), which lets us keep some context of the environment without taking attention away from the subject.

Her outfit also sticks to a black-and-white theme: a graphic houndstooth pattern dress, bold and timeless, paired with a long leather coat that adds movement, personality, and a modern vibe.

This kind of setting works especially well in black and white photography, as it really enhances the contrast and gives the image more impact.

The midday lighting brought in some pretty harsh shadows and strong contrast, but by exposing correctly for the background and adding a bit of artificial light on the model, we were able to keep everything balanced without overexposing the shot.
