Noah's Ark Docked At Tung Wan Beach
July 30, 2023
When I was young, I was told about the Bible story of how God spared Noah, and how he created the ship that saved the animals and people from the global flood. Real or not, this has been a legendary story that everyone knows. And if you missed the Noah's Ark movie, then you are outdated in history.
I can't imagine seeing the legendary ship in real life. Yes! You are seeing it now too. It's Noah's Ark! Not the real one, though, but a life-sized replica of the real Noah's Ark. The size is according to measurements stated in the Bible. So seeing it before my eyes is like seeing the real Noah's Ark.
The Noah's Ark on Tung Wan Beach at Ma Wan Island located under the bridge is 450 ft long. Its size falls in the range from about 135 to 150 meters long which is the real length of the ark in the bible. This, however, isn't mobile and not in the water, so it can't sail like the real Noah's Ark.
Noah's Ark is a hotel and resort that is part of the island's park and has the concept of nature and art. However, to be able to enter this ark, an entrance fee of more than a hundred Hong Kong dollars is needed, which I wasn't aware of in the first place.
I like the outdoor architecture of this resort, with posts and walls made from stones. It reminded me of the Flinstones cartoon I watched when I was young.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to explore this theme park as planned. The thing is, I explored the island to look for places on my bucket list, then went back to Noah's Ark at six in the afternoon since I wanted to stay there at night. Unbeknownst to me, the park is closing at six. I was doomed! And I didn't do further research about the ark's details beforehand. The Noah's Ark theme park was already closed by the time I wanted to explore it. But restaurants are still open on the other side.
It says that inside the ark are around 70 different life-sized animal sculptures that were mentioned in the Bible. There is also a nature garden with different trees with a jungle vibe. On the top floor are hotel and youth hostel rooms with a view that overlook the stunning bridge and the beach. Part of the attraction is the 180-degree wide-screen theater and amusement park for kids. There are also restaurants for dining, and workshop centers for learning in this ark. You can check this link if you want to know the controversy about the construction of this site.
So those are the things I missed visiting inside this ark. I'll see them probably on my next visit to this island.
However, I was able to take a walk at Tung Wan Beach which is one of the main attractions on the island. This was the first spot I visited on the island, as it is located near the pier. There aren't cottages along the beach, so people would look for shade under tree canopies, inside their tents, or under rented umbrellas.
The beach is just small, and so is the island. It is stretching 140 meters in the front part of the island with fine golden sand and a scenic view overlooking the two most iconic bridges of Hong Kong, the Tsing Ma Bridge and Kap Shui Mun Bridge. Showers are also provided for those swimming on the beach.
These are iconic bridges in Hong Kong. Kap Shui Mun bridge on the left is connecting Ma Wan and Lantau Island and is one of the world's longest cable-stayed bridges. Meanwhile, on the right is Tsing Ma Bridge connecting Tsing Yi and Ma Wan where its name comes from. This is the 16th-longest-span suspension bridge in the world. Bridge after bridge. The view is definitely a beauty to behold, especially at night!
On the back part of the beach is the Park Island residential complex.
Back in the day, the island was just a simple fishing island where the villagers' source of income mainly came from fishing. When this residential complex was built, old villages were abandoned, and the villagers were relocated to new residential buildings.
From a simple fishing island, this has become a tourist getaway destination. The beach has become more lively since the creation of Park Island. Along the beach are business establishments and different restaurants serving Asian and Western cuisine.
On other sides of the island are the new villages, where villagers were relocated. Different restaurants and cafes can be found in all corners of the island, too. And these attract visitors, both local and foreign.
The beach is definitely a perfect weekend destination to beat the heat in summer for those looking for a more private place and a not-so-crowded beach. This, by the way, is the only beach in Ma Wan.
Views of the beach from the pier. Taken at around six in the afternoon.
People stay on this beach even until night. Whether in a group or solo, you would definitely enjoy the place and be relaxed by the scenic view of nature.
Aside from this beach and Noah's Ark, more attractions on this island are worth exploring. Hopefully, on my next visit, I'll be able to explore the ark and other parts I failed to visit.
Happy weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

I thought you are entering the shop probably another rain is coming, I will find my way to Hong Kong immediately to get into Ark. I wonder what a new world would look like if such should happen again.
You had a great time exploring the environment and hope we can see the interior of the place some day. Thanks for sharing.
There are shops inside too.. But the outdoor view is incredible. And walking by the beach is relaxing. That Tsing Ma bridge is awesome! It was a worthwhile walk on this island.

THANK YOU!
Wow! Ang ganda naman diyan Jane. A replica of Noah's ark, so makikita mo talaga yung biblical ark. Mas maganda kung nasa tubig yang ark papatok talaga yung resort & hotel.
I bet mas malaking gastusin yun at walang space sa water since under the bridge is a passageway for cargo ships and ferries.
I saw one online located in Netherlands. Yun mobile talaga at nsa tubig.

Ah kaya pala. Medyo nagka interes ako sa Netherlands baka gusto mo puntahan yan Jane at gumawa ng blog..
Yung Netherlands? Parang pupunta lang Manila ah. Lol.
Baka someday Jane..
I think ai heard about the story.
That's happened bad. I think you would get another opportunity to visit there to explore it.
In case if beach it's looking very beautiful and refreshing 🙂.

It was already afternoon when I went to this island so I hadn't had enough time to visit all places. And I never thought it would close as early as six...at night was my ideal time to visit the place since the bridge is more stunning .. I'll visit it next time.
It would be really fun to visit here
I can just imagine 😩😩
At least you are seeing it here hehe..
I just don't want to see
I want to enter 😩😩😩😩😩😩
That's a very creative concept.
Sana makapasyal kami dyan someday.
Pag ipunan ya haha
hahaha. Oo nga
Oh sayang you didn't had a chance to explore but still you had a wonderful walk!.
Yes it was a wonderful walk. At least , I was able to see the huge ark from outside hehe
I thought that was the real ark, I wouldn't have believed if it's still fine up to this day if it was the real one.
The beach is nice.. It's not so crowded? Or maybe because it's already late.
It was already afternoon and many had left the island ..haha.....the crowded ones are near the cities...
Naku naman ang Ganda ng place. Sana sa susunod ma blog mo na kung ano ang nasa loob ng Ark..
Antayin ko susunod mong blog. Enjoy and God bless.
I never knew this existed, I mean it as a hotel & resort !LOLZ They really did a good job designing it. I !LUV how they have the animal statues outside of it. They really went all in. I can't wait for you to come back and show us the inside. Better you than going to link 😊 Also the line of towers near the beach is really neat. I imagine not cheap to live in them. Amazing place !!

Definitely not cheap haha.. Living in HK alone isn't cheap..those in private complex are more expensive... It depends on the location..
Did you forget to pin it📌?
Nope..dunno.. I guess it isn't working
This is awesome, Jane! What a find! That resort looks lovely too! Did you know that there is a full size Noah's Ark in Kentucky in the USA. I have never been to Kentucky but I'd love to see it!
Here's the link below if you're interested!

I only know the one in Netherlands.. But I know there are different versions in different parts of the world..
I'll check it ☺️

The ark looks like another fun place for grandparents to take the kids to for a day. Used to be a fishing village? Are there any authentic Junks still operating anymore? They seem to be a rare sight aside form modern ships noawadays.
Thanks for the photo tour @jane1289
You'll find out in my next blog ☺️..
Yup, there is an amusement park for kids inside and other workshop centers that kids could enjoy during school break..
!LADY
Ohhhh the famous Noah's ark!😊 I wouldn't even get tired watching the movie and seeing this is just a wow!😍 How I love to wander in places like this where what I've read and heard are becoming real in front of my eyes. Thank you for this tour.😊
Welcome.. It was an opportunity to see this ark before my eyes hehe .

Don't worry, I trust you will enter into Noah's ark when next you visit. It was because you couldn't research more about the ark, that caught you unexpectedly. I remember the story in the Bible and it's one of my favourite stories.
Hopefully Princess..but it's okay if not, at least I was able to see it.n
Alright then.
A sliver of beach surrounded by skyscrapers and bridges or city streets isn't really something we'd like to see here...it's about natural places. I'm sure you'll not post this sort of man-made content again right?
What do you mean? This was originally posted here.. I just reposted it to pinmapple...unless it's not allowed..but I am aware it is allowed on pinmapple..
I know...that's the problem...this community isn't about man-mad resorts, buildings, bridges and city street.
Thanks for showing us this side of HK. It's amazing, what they have done with the place.
Yes sis.. But the original fishing village will soon be vanished in the picture and will only remain in the history..
The old fishing village I wanted to visit is now under construction..they're I guess revamping the old village..
Oh, that's quite sad. Looks like development is underway then. It would be good if they preserved some of it
Yun ang tinutukoy ko na Ghost town na gusto ko iexplore...
Close na 🥲.
It is real sis. Some of our Pastors told us that they were able to visit the place where the original ark was situated. According to them it is too old and the wood of the ark is decaying or very old.
Noah's ark I one of my favorite stories in the Bible and my son already knew about it too because I tell him bible stories too.
Looking at this, this really looks like Noah's ark. It is amazing that people thought to make a replica of it.
It is a beautiful place, I would have liked to see the images of the animals inside.
It is a wonderful walk and tour that you did on this island.
They are just sculptures, but life-sized.. I want to see them too ☺️
