While many people like to greet the beginning New Year with colorful rockets and especially loud firecrackers, that's not my cup of tea. (I don't like the firecrackers at all but at least enjoy watching the fireworks.)
My way to prepare for the new year was making a long walk (while it was still calm outside), enjoying the silence, letting my thoughts circle around reliving the ending year.
Of course I also made some photos. The special thing is that first I was observing the sunset, but suddenly, while the fainting luminescence of the sun was still visible, the (almost) full moon already appeared in the sky. When later the sun had completely disappeared, the landscape was involved in shimmering moonlight.

Während die meisten Menschen das beginnende Neue Jahr mit bunten Silvesterraketen und besonders lauten Knallern begrüßen, ist das meine Sache nicht. (Die Böller mag ich überhaupt nicht, aber das Feuerwerk betrachte ich gerne.)
Meine Art, mich auf das Neue Jahr vorzubereiten, war, einen langen Spaziergang zu machen (solange draußen noch Ruhe herrschte), die Stille zu genießen, meine Gedanken kreisen und das zu Ende gehende Jahr Revue passieren zu lassen.
Natürlich schoss ich auch einige Fotos. Das Besondere war, dass ich zunächst den Sonnenuntergang beobachtete, als plötzlich, während das schwächer werdende Leuchten der Sonne noch zu sehen war, der (fast) Vollmond am Himmel erschien. Als später die Sonne ganz verschwunden war, bot sich mir eine in schimmerndes Mondlicht getauchte Landschaft.

Unfortunately I could not shoot the full moon (super moon phenonenon) in my area because it's cloudy. You are lucky to enjoy the moon in new year night.

Herzlich willkommen in 2018. Bei uns ist der erste Tag ja schon mehr als halb rum.
Silvester war auch ganz entspannt, ein Abendessen mit der japanischen Familie und dann musst die kleine ja auch wieder pünktlich ins Bett. Aber dafür war ich dann heute auch fit und konnte auf einen kleinen Spaziergang gehen.

Guten Morgen lieber jaki01,
ich gehe davon aus, daß Du gut ins neue Jahr rübergekommen bist. Wir kennen uns zwar nicht persönlich, aber alleine an Hand der Schilderung, wie Du den "Beschluß" begangen hast, darf ich wohl annehmen, daß Du in den letzten Stunden nicht in einem "Saufgelage" gelandet bist. ;-)
Meine Familie und ich sind zumindest sehr unspektakulär in das neue Jahr getaucht. Da mein Sohn heute Geburtstag hat, und die beiden Kinder zudem Sylvester verschlafen haben, haben wir noch Geschenke "aufgebaut" und sind dann totmüde ins Bett gefallen.
Mein Geld ist mir viel zu schade, um es für Böller und Raketen rauszuhauen. Ich habe mir in meinem ganzen Leben noch nicht einen Feuerwerkskörper gekauft. Ich gucke lieber bei Bedarf bei den anderen zu. ;-)
Die Fotos gefallen mir wieder sehr gut. An Heiligabend war ich noch mit meinem Schwiegervater und seinem neuen Hund auf einer Wanderung in der Abenddämmerung unterwegs. Wir hatten zwar keinen Vollmond, aber die ganze Atmosphäre, die Deine Bilder transportieren, hat mich doch spontan daran erinnert.
Da liegst du völlig richtig. :) Und ein Feuerwerk veranstalten bzw. Böller kaufen tun wir auch nicht.
Böller lasse ich auch lieber die anderen kaufen und schau dann einfach zu. Für solche Knallerei habe ich auch noch nie einen Cent ausgegben. Es ist aber witzig zu sehen, wie sich Nachbarn mit der Schiesserei Konkurrenz machen: "Höher - Lauter - Länger", lautet dann die Devise.
Was ich aber auch nicht mehr mache, ist, nach dem Spektakel zu applaudieren - das kam auch nicht gut an bei Nachbars.... :)
das tut so gut zu lesen, das wir nicht die einzigen sind die keine lust auf die typische Silvester sause haben. wenn ich die Bilder anschaue denke ich auch du hattest mehr von dem tag als der rest! schöne Bilder! Frohes Neues Jahr wünsche ich trotz allem

Als erstes, ein gesundes neues Jahr für dich und deine lieben!! Das Wetter war top, der Mond einfach herrlich. Er war zwar teilweise von leichten Schleierwolken verdeckt, aber es herrschte eine wundervolle Stimmung. Ich finde, es wurde viel weniger Feuerwerk veranstaltet als die Jahre zuvor. Wir haben uns das treiben vom Balkon aus angesehen.
Euch wünsche ich natürlich auch ein frohes Neues Jahr und viel Glück und Erfolg! :)

Ich beginne gerne das Neue Jahr mit einem ausgedehnten Spaziergang, genieße die ungewöhnliche Ruhe und lasse meinen Gedanken freien Lauf. Störend sind dabei nur die unzähligen Spuren der vorangegangenen Silvesternacht.
Mit deinen 'Schwarz-Weiß'-Fotos könntest du bei jeder "BnW-Challenge" punkten. Vielleicht solltest du einmal daran teilnehmen ;-)

Meinst du, man darf ein Bild zweimal verwenden? Dann könnte ich es ja mal mit einer der B&W-Challenges versuchen. Allerdings finde auch nie das Post mit den zugehörigen Regeln. (Insgesamt bin ich kein 'Challenges-Fan', sondern schreibe lieber zusammenhängende Artikel.)
Ich weiß nicht, wie empfindlich cheetah darauf reagiert, wenn das gleiche Bild zweimal gepostet wird. Im schlimmsten Fall bekommst du eine freundliche Abmahnung. Ich würde es einfach mal ausprobieren.
Bei dieser Fülle an challenges kann man schon den Überblick verlieren ;-) Bei der Challenge mit dem tag "sevendaybnwchallenge" geht es darum, über eine Woche lang jeden Tag ein Schwarz/Weiß-Foto (keine Personen) ohne jeglichen Kommentar zu posten und jemanden zu nominieren, wobei man aber auch ohne nominiert worden zu sein, daran teilnehmen kann.
Ich habe auch einmal innerhalb unserer Steemit-Austria-Gruppe bei diesem Bewerb mitgemacht. Ich war aber froh, als die Woche vorbei war und wieder Farbe ins Leben kam ;-)

Very beautiful scenery of natural images. Why the tree leaved no plasticity, what more dry season there?
Did you ask why the trees are having no more leaves? It's winter time, and the spent energy to maintain leaves would exceed the energy gained by the photosynthesis of the leaves (because there is not enough sunlight). Therefore in Middle Europe deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn, but get new ones in spring.
However, in case you mean the conifers, they always (summer and winter) wear needle-like 'leaves'.

Die Lärm bei Silvester mag ich auch nicht. Mit meinen Kindern machen wir Lichtfeuerwerk. Auf Böller verzichten wir komplett.
Der Mond in der Silvesternacht war herrlich schön und so strahlend hell. Wo die Strassenbeleuchtung fehlte konnte der Mond gut helfen.

Mir gehts mit dem Feuerwerk genau wie dir. Ich finde, die Stadt sollte 1 grosses Feuerwerk machen und fertig. Das Leute privat wie wild in der Gegend rumböllern finde ich unmöglich, die armen Tiere.

Well great and unique way to prepare for new year... Awesome photos I love the way you captured these photos.. can see the quietness and calmness in the air... BTW have you read the essay "Bromides and Sulphites"... According to this essay your unique style makes you a sulphite. "Bromides are those people who just follow the ordinary people, routine and ways", "Sulphites never do what is expected, they don't follow ordinary people, routine and ways. They just make their own".
