RE: Unsubstantiated flags

Yes, a very weak point of HIVE in my opinion: a 'whale' (or a user supported by a trail etc.) can destroy the HIVE career of every smaller user whenever they please by automatically downvoting every single post of their victim. Only in very rare cases I ever saw that other whales stepped in to protect anybody and counter the downvotes (I guess due to the unwritten rule that "Hawks will not pick out hawks' eyes.").
I guess you will call that "decentralized", I call it POBP: "Proof Of the Bigger Pocket". :-)

I always see you HIVE freaks lamenting on Twitter (X) and wherever else why nobody recognizes the "great decentralized HIVE blockchain", but I think exactly examples like this here are the reason.
However, I had this discussion so many times before, and I am well aware that I have no influence to change anything here.

So good luck @andrianna, you will need it ...

And apart from that we won't agree, I wish you all the best @gtg.

"Proof Of the Bigger Pocket", exactly. Let me remind you of Ibsen quote: "What's the point of being right if you're less powerful than they." The ability to shut their mouth and erase a small fish is power, and the power that you use over and over again -- it changes you, corrupts your vision, provides you with a sense of permissiveness, sense of infallibility and rightness in any matter. 😶

That's true, but I asked him not to flag it. He flags it and threatens it.
For artists there is a work process and there can be multiple posts.
I don't post one photo like he does and don't have 20 or 50 daily for multiple posts.
I spend a month or maybe more to create a drawing.
Thank you for writing.

Yes, I'll call that decentralized, and it's an awesome feature. "Bigger pocket" thing can't break it, because "there's always a bigger fish".

Yes, abuse could happen, but it's up to the community to sort it out. I tried to mediate on chat in many, many cases (that's how I've met @andrianna and the others years ago by the way).

It's very easy to accept tons of up-votes, but with down-votes it's completely different story, while both are important part of the same mechanism.

And apart from that we won't agree, I wish you all the best @jaki01

It's very easy to accept tons of up-votes, but with down-votes it's completely different story, while both are important part of the same mechanism.

In my opinion downvotes are important against spam, plagiarism (or even worse things), and well, I have nothing against the idea of their function to 'redistribute' the rewards pool from time to time. However, I hate their use as personal revenge tool, where self-perceived little kings (who themselves rather often create nothing of real value) simply and plain harass others just because they can, and downvote posts not because they would be 'over rewarded' but simply because they don't like the author or their opinion. In my eyes it's kind of stalking.

And from my experience (and from my talks with many users I think that) the 'community' in most cases does just nothing, not because nobody would be aware of the problem but because people fear to become the next victim of tyranny.

Why not talk to people and encourage them to improve instead of punishing them (where else should the feeling of a real bee hive come from)? (And by the way, I have seen clearly worse posts than these of for example @andrianna).

That exact problem is the reason why I significantly reduced my HIVE investment. Soon Again I will have available additional 200k Euro to invest. It will go into Bitcoin, maybe a part of it into Splinterlands, ... but HIVE? I doubt it ...

Anyway, sorry for annoying you, but sometimes I see things happen where I can't stay quiet.

Let me say this my friend as this is sort my area of expertise.

Adriana has a very long history of abuse. She has been a hive farmer for 4 + years. Numerous Plagiarism, recycling, posing as model in front of others pictures, drawn work, posting same elements on multiple accounts. The list is very long.

Every time there is a new excuse. Every time there is a last chance. She used to get 100 hive votes back in the day for weeks. Look at her account, has nothing to show for it. All sold.

Lately her rewards are tiny so I don't really pay attention, because there are bigger abuses going on and I focus on them.

Thanks for your opinion. I had the impression her last posts were 'solid' anyhow (at least compared with what I sometimes find elsewhere here, where people post single pics with no text etc.). But I agree that things like plagiarism are not acceptable. And IF it is really true that she hasn't changed since then, you have a valid point.
In general I am a person who prefers 'encouragement' (to improve) over 'punishment' (with no chance to improve the situation), but if someone lets pass too many given chances/opportunities, then well ...

Yes, and notice I haven't downvoted her. I haven't done it in ages :)

So even if we come from different angles, we agree :)
