After the landing in Madrid we promptly missed our bus to Seville (for which we already had bought the tickets online). In our despair to arrive at the wedding celebration on time, we went to the railway station and asked whether any trains could still take us to our destination at such a late hour.
At first they said no, but after we insisted, we were told of a very expensive option to buy a ticket for club class on a high-speed train from Madrid to Seville. Soaked with sweat and equipped with old backpacks, I guess we hadn't made the impression as if we could afford that at all. :)
The comfort on this train, which is often used for example by politicians or toreros, was way above everything the German Rail has to offer ...

In Madrid gelandet, verpassten wir prompt den Bus nach Sevilla (für den wir die Fahrkarten bereits online gekauft hatten). In unserer Not, doch noch rechtzeitig zur Hochzeitsfeier zu kommen, fragten wir am Bahnhof nach, ob uns zu so später Stunde noch irgendwelche Züge an unser Ziel bringen könnten.
Zunächst wurde das verneint, als wir jedoch insistierten, wies man uns auf eine sehr kostspielige Möglichkeit hin, ein Ticket für die Club-Klasse in einem Hochgeschwindigkeitszug von Madrid nach Sevilla zu kaufen. Verschwitzt und mit alten Rucksäcken ausgestattet, hatten wir wohl nicht gerade den Eindruck erweckt, uns das überhaupt leisten zu können. :)
Der Komfort in diesem häufig von Politikern oder Toreros genutzten Zug stellte dann aber auch alles in den Schatten, was die Deutsche Bahn zu bieten in der Lage ist ...

Spain is a country that I have always dreamed of knowing, is really beautiful, I have seen many posts about the places and the culture that characterizes it and it makes me fall in love, it is a beautiful country. And Madrid as its capital does not stop revealing its charms, you can appreciate its architecture and the art that accompanies it. The photos show a capital of Spain worthy of being visited sometime. toller Betrag mit echt schönen Bildern. Wie gern würde ich mal wieder so ein paar alte Gebäude sehen, gibts in Australien nur leider gar nicht.
Besonders schmunzeln musste ich bei dem Essen in der Bahn. Musste an so eine alte vertrocknete Currywurst im Essensabteil der Deutschen Bahn denken, die dann auch noch unverschämte 5,80€ oder so kostet. 😁
In diesem Zug hatten wir das schmackhafte Essen kostenlos genossen. Es war schon inklusiv im Preis. Ich stellte mir vor wie in einem Langstreckenflug, super. Der Preis für das erste Klasse-Ticket lohnt sich.
Obwohl wir nicht unbedingt nochmal machen würden, es sei denn...der Steem-Preis steigt immer höher und höher hahaha.
wow da kann sich die Deutsche Bahn echt eine Scheibe abschneiden. In eurem Fall war das ja auch ein Notfall, der ja dann aber ganz gut für euch geendet hat.

Die Anekdote vom verpassten Zug fand ich besonders interessant.
Wie heißt es sprichtwörtlich so schon: Kleider machen Leute.
Man läßt sich da doch ganz schnell täuschen...
Mir ist auch mal Ähnliches passiert.
Ich war mit einem Freund ein wenig im Wald wandern. Es war spät geworden, und wir wollten noch etwas in einer - nicht mal besonders feinen - Pizzeria essen. Wir waren aber nicht besondes chic gekleidet. Wir waren ja auch wandern. Es war im Winter und etwas schlammig.
Du mußt nicht glauben, daß die "Kellner" uns überhaupt bedient hätten. Ich habe dann nach einigen Minuten gesagt: Komm wir gehen, die wollen unser Geld nicht! Natürlich gehe ich dor auch nicht nochmal hin... ;-)
Wenn der Ober vornehmer ist, als seine Gäste, macht jemand was falsch. Meistens sind es die Kellner. Aber manchmal ist es auch einfach nur das falsche Gasthaus.
Es waren zwei weibliche Bedienungen. ;-)
Frauen gucken immer zuerst auf die Schuhe. Alarm!

Schöne Bilder, bei denen für mich wahre Erinnerungen hochkommen! Ich war damals mal eine Freundin, die in Madrid im Erasmus war, besuchen. Auf unserem Roadtrip haben wir auch einen kurzen Stop in Barcelona (Liebelingsstadt!!) gemacht. Madrid hat mir auch super gefallen, habe da auch kurz ein bisschen Straßenmusik gemacht. Irgendwann kamen Polizisten auf ihren Pferden vorbei, eines Tiere hat ein paar Äpfel geleckt und dann sind sie weiter :D Ich fands sehr amüsant! Essenstechnisch war das Spanische aber nicht sooo 100 prozentig meins. Also klar haben wir auch gut gegessen. Nur einmal gab es in einem Hostel nur so eine Suppe aus verschiedenen Brocken Fleisch und das war irgendwie prägnant. Aber alles in allem: Tolle Stadt!

Wir waren ja auch als quasi...Religionslose mit eigenem Glauben in einer Moschee :) Friedlich geht da absolut, kommt halt auf das Individuum und seine Toleranz an.

Interessante Baukunst, ich war schon of in Spanien aber nie dort.
Das wünsche ich mir so sehr, das wir das endlich schaffen.
Madrid ist eine schöne Stadt, klar die schläft an manchen Stellen auch nicht, wie so viele Städte. einmal war ich dort, vor vielen Jahren. Ich glaube es war so ca. 1999 oder 2000. Aber nur kurz, leider. Wir hatten damals in Spanien für 1 Jahr gewohnt und da waren wir für eine Nacht in der Stadt gewesen zum übernachten. Damals gab es noch keine Navi und ich weis noch als wenn es heute ist, wie schwer es war die Adresse zu finden. Wie die Zeiten sich doch ändern. Damals ein ganzen Ordner voller Karten und heute einfach das Gerät. Aber soll ich dir was sagen? Ich fahre dennoch immer noch gerne ohne Gerät. Denn wenn ich es nicht benutze, präge ich mir die Umwelt ganz anders ein und erinnere mich sogar mehr an die Strecke die ich gefahren bin, als wenn ich ein Navi benutze.... Toller Trip von euch zwei Lieben :-) Hatte viel Freude beim Lesen mit meiner Frau

Such a pretty city with lots of masterpieces in architecture. It was 2010 travel story and it is very nice to still have those pictures and share them with us. And do you feel like you want to use this very expensive train again in another occasion?

The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family located in the city of Madrid, but the building is only used for state ceremonies. Is that true ? Thank you @jaki01

Madrid soll ja ziemlich ziemlich schön sein, habe ich bereits des öfteren gehört, um einiges schöner als Barcelona und nicht so dreckig...das Problem habe ich hier in Barcelona, sehr dreckig und ein nicht so prickelnder Geruch in vielen Straßen und jede Menge Tourismus!

Echt? Puh, ich habe jetzt gut 5 Monate hier gelebt und es ist wirklich schmutzig muss ich sagen, wenn ich für ne Woche hier gewesen wäre, wärs was anderes, aber leben könnt ich in Barcelonna nicht. Wie lange warst du bereits in BCN?
Ich war nur ca. eine Woche dort. Das Problem ist, dass die deutschen Städte mittlerweile auch rapide immer verdreckter werden ... es muss global dringend mehr für mehr Sauberkeit getan werden - auch (bzw. gerade auch) hier!
Da hast du wohl recht... Man müsste sich ein Beispiel an Tokyo und der japanischen Kultur nehmen! Gemeinwohl an erster Stelle und die Stadt ist so extrem sauber und leise und das für eine Großstadt...

Ich bin ein großer Fan vom schönen Barcelona und Gaudis verspielten Designs, doch Deine Bilder machen Lust auf Madrid. Wird also für uns mal Zeit für uns neue Ecken Spaniens zu erkunden. Deine/Eure Bilder wecken auf jeden Fall Reiselust :)

So viele schöne Städte, die es noch zu entdecken gilt! Madrid ist für mich definitiv eine davon.
Was ich an deinen Reiseberichten so mag, ist, dass du neben informativem Text und super Fotos auch persönliche Anekdoten einfließen lässt, was viel unterhaltsamer zu lesen ist als eine nüchterne Reisereportage.
Ich versuche, eine möglichst ausgewogene Balance zwischen Bildern, Infos und (ein wenig) Persönlichem zu finden. Freut mich, dass dir das gefällt!
Als nächstes kommt vielleicht Sevilla dran, und, falls ihr Leser davon nicht inzwischen übersättigt seid, hätte ich auch immer noch eine Menge unveröffentlichter Málaga-Fotos. :)
Genau diese Mischung macht es aus :-)
Ich lasse mich immer wieder gerne in andere Länder und Städte entführen. Da bei mir im Sommer eine Spanienreise auf dem Programm steht, kann es für mich gar nicht genug Informationen und Fotos zu diesem Land geben ;-)

Wonderful places with a lot of interesting to see! The architectures, the palace, the Almuderna Cathedral, the Mosque, the buildings, are all beautiful. I especially like the inside of the Cathedral which has magnificent arts. It’s great that you can take the photo of the colorful light which like a rainbow, very gorgeous! I like the blurred image, too. Amazing artworks with bright color! ;)

Wonderful places with a lot of interesting to see! The architectures, the palace, the Almuderna Cathedral, the Mosque, the buildings, are all beautiful. I especially like the inside of the Cathedral which has magnificent arts. It’s great that you can take the photo of the colorful light which like a rainbow, very gorgeous! I like the blurred image, too. Amazing artworks with bright color! ;)

Wow! What a lovely fun-filled trip you must have had. All the delicious food & scenery. That's what I love about vacation, because you can take those memories with you and be content forever, having been to these places.
This artwork is beautiful. To think that people from hundreds of years ago made this artwork, yet today our artwork doesn't use these techniques/forms of art.

These plants have gained my interest. I am curious what they are considered as a plant, what type of species. I'm also curious if they can be trimmed to different, cool looking designs. No, I am not sure about the exact tree species. Maybe you can find out something if you seek in the internet for Sabatini Gardens.
