Costa Rica, Playa Junquillal.

At the moment we are on a longer trip, which has led us so far via the stations Seville, Málaga and Madrid in Spain to San Jose and now the "Playa Junquillal" in Costa Rica, located on the Pacific Ocean, before we will pay a visit to the somewhat higher Hojancha next week.
I didn't get to post anything yet, but while I might report about our stay in Spain later, I want to share my impressions of Costa Rica with you already now.
We are currently staying at the "Mundo Milo Eco Lodge" which is run by the extremely friendly and accommodating Dutch couple, Lieke and Michiel, and whose special features I also plan to write about.
I will start in this post, however, with some pictures taken on the beach and its immediate surroundings.

Derzeit befinden wir uns auf einer längeren Reise, die uns bisher über die Stationen Sevilla, Málaga und Madrid in Spanien bis nach San Jose und nun den am Pazifik gelegenen "Playa Junquillal" in Costa Rica geführt hat, bevor wir nächste Woche noch dem etwas höher gelegenen Hojancha einen Besuch abstatten werden.
Zum Posten kam ich bisher nicht, aber während ich über unseren Aufenthalt in Spanien möglicherweise später noch berichte, möchte ich euch bereits jetzt an meinen Eindrücken von Costa Rica teilhaben lassen.
Beherbergt sind wir derzeit in der von dem äußerst sympathischen und zuvorkommenden niederländischen Paar, Lieke und Michiel, betriebenen "Mundo Milo Eco Lodge", über deren Besonderheiten ich ebenfalls noch zu schreiben plane.
Beginnen werde ich in diesem Post jedoch mit einigen am Strand und dessen unmittelbarer Umgebung aufgenommen Bildern.

In this place of the beach is located a project for the protection of sea turtles. Local and foreign helpers protect (for example by doing patrols) both adult females which lay their eggs into the sand at nights and the newly hatched young animals usually striving to the sea towards sunset. |

The way to the saving water is arduous and dangerous. Only a few of the young turtles will survive, and after 25 to 50 years the then adult female specimens will return to exactly the same place where they once began their journey through life to lay eggs themselves.
In addition to natural enemies and poachers digging up the clutches, the turtles are being affected by pollution, warming seas and especially the large amount of plastic floating in the water.

Der Weg ins rettende Wasser ist beschwerlich und gefährlich. Nur wenige der jungen Schildkröten werden überleben, und nach 25 bis 50 Jahren werden die dann ausgewachsenen weiblichen Exemplare an genau dieselbe Stelle zurückkehren, an der sie einst ihren Lebensweg begannen, um dort selbst Eier zu legen.
Neben natürlichen Feinden und die Gelege ausgrabenden Wilderern setzen den Schildkröten Umweltverschmutzung, die sich erwärmenden Meere und insbesondere das viele im Wasser treibende Plastik zu.

Ich weiß nicht warum ich auf englisch kommentiert habe. Aber kurz eine Frage. Ich will ja schon länger Mal nach Costa Rica, vor allem wegen der Kolibris die es auch dort geben soll. Wie bist du auf die Idee gekommen von Spanien nach Costa Rica zu fliegen? Ist ja doch etwas auseinander?
Der Einsiedlerkrebst ist super. Wie sieht es mit Vögeln aus. Da ich doch sehr stark in Richtung Vogelfotografie tendiere würde ich mich über ein paar Erfahrungen in dieser Hinsicht freuen. Liebe Grüße!
In Sevilla wohnen Freunde von mir, die ich schon länger nicht mehr gesehen habe, Málaga ist eine meiner Lieblingsstädte, die ich schon seit über 20 Jahren immer wieder besuche, und nach Costa Rica wollten wir, weil es einerseits ein sehr spannendes, sehr vielfältiges Urlaubsziel ist, aber andererseits aufgrund verschiedener Eigenschaften ein potentielles Auswanderungsziel (z. B. Territorialbesteuerung, vorteilhafte Gesetzgebung hinsichtlich Kryptowährungen, Sauberkeit & Umweltschutz, relativ gutes Bildungs- und Gesundheitssystem bei generell viel Freiheit) darstellt.
Die höre ich bisher meistens nur. :-)
Es gibt viele verschiedene Vogelarten in Costa Rica. Toll sind z. B. auch die Tukane und Aras, aber je nachdem, welche man beobachten will, muss man das entsprechende Habitat bereisen.
Ich glaube ... Wir sind wahrscheinlich wirklich die falschen Personen, um über persönliche Erfahrungen mit Vögeln in Costa Rica Auskunft zu geben. Vögel sind Frühaufsteher und wir sind das definitiv nicht 😝😂🙈. Darum haben wir bisher nur die Geräusche gehört ... vor allem von den gewöhnlichen Arten in der Nähe (und auch nur weil wir in einer Eco-Lodge übernachten, wo der Hof praktisch wie ein kleiner Wald ist) und haben noch nie welche erwischt.
Ich kann dir allerdings sagen, dass Costa Rica tatsächlich viel zu bieten hat, auch wenn es um Voelbeobachtungen geht.

It seems that you had a nice trip and an excellent time with your warm family! Your wife, @kobold-djawa, has a happy smile. I can imagine your little princess would certainly feel so excited with the sea view and especially the sculpture of the giant turtle and the lively babies as well. It would be great watching a lot of them walking to the sea and I can touch your little princess's feeling of sadness when watching the last baby disappearing to the sea...
The sunset over the sea is really magnificent. The sun is very big and I like the way you take some shots of the sun until it goes down to the sea.... The colors of the sky are gorgeous and the reflection is impressive.
The surrounding nature is nice and those animals that you found are amazing; i.e. the crab is well camouflaged, it's interesting to see your video of the hermit crabs, the iguana is impressive indeed, etc.
Last but not least, it's good to see you via your shadow in the first photo... ;D

The pictures of sun are very beautifully done by you it looks very good and all the other skins are also very beautiful one gets a lot of peace when he goes to such a place with his family. How did you collect so many turtles.?

Kein Wunder, daß Du gerne dort verweilen möchtest. Die Sonnenauf- und Untergänge würden mir auch gefallen. Wenn man in Costa Rica auch freier leben kann als anderswo, ist es umso besser. Costa Rica soll ja die Schweiz jenseits des Atlantiks sein. Habe ich zumindest mal gehört. ;-)
Ich kann allen, die sowieso das Fernweh packt, die auch gerne in fremde Länder reisen, nur dazu ermutigen, ihrem Herzen zu folgen.
Mir würde dort wohl noch alles zu spanisch vorkommen, wenn ich mir diese als Metapher zu verstehende Bemerkung noch erlauben darf.
Ja, so sagt man. Da das Land keine eigene Armee hat, bleiben mehr Ressourcen für ein funktionierendes Bildungs- und Gesundheitssystem. Auch die politische Lage ist stabil und fast 100 % der Energie stammt aus regenerativen Quellen.
Einziger Nachteil: Es ist verglichen mit anderen tropischen Destinationen auch entsprechend teuer.
Costa Rica war, ist und wird immer eine meiner wunderbarsten und eindrücklichsten Reisen sein. Ein Paradies, ein immerwährender Garten des Frühlings... Wünsche euch viele besondere Begegnungen. Pura Vida Mae!!!
