My Latest Crochet Projects with Ideas and Tricks! π
Hi Hiveians! Lately I've been posting a lot about Macrame in #Needleworkmonday, so today I would like to show some of my crochet creations for a change. I love crochet and it is a lot of fun so I want to post about that a little more. π
Today in the morning, I woke up early and started crocheting an oven mitt. I wanted it to be the shape of a rag, not a glove. While making it, I was a little nervous that the edges of the oven mitt wouldn't be flat, but after crocheting a little more it turned out straighter the way I wanted it. All I used for it was a 3.50mm hook and a normal grey yarn I have. My project isn't finished yet, but I hope it turns out nicely.
Crocheting the oven mitt to this far it took me about 10-15 minutes, I'm not a very fast crocheter yet, sometimes I like to take my time but my goal is to become quicker and better at this. π
I am crocheting it for my mama for when she cooks. Because her other oven mitt already got burned once and it doesn't work so well anymore..
My mama is also crocheting more. Every morning, she sits outside on the balcony to drink her coffee. Usually, she puts a napkin under her coffee mug because she doesn't like that "clang" sound the mug makes when she puts it on the table. She also hates it when drinks like cold water sweat onto the table. That's why she crocheted herself a pretty coaster to put under her daily morning coffee. She has never made one of these before, though I think it looks very nice. What do you think? π
A week ago, I started crocheting not knowing what I was going to make and it turned out like this. It took about 20 minutes. My mama said it could be a wallet, which is a pretty good idea. I also like the idea of making an Amigurumi out of it, I can put cotton in it and I could make a character out of it! Which idea do you prefer? I notice when crocheting, if you do it tightly and shaping it the way you want in the process makes it this shape like a sphere, for example, when making a hat and other things. That's a new skill I've learned. π
Thank you for viewing my post, I hope you enjoyed it and enjoy the rest of your day! π

Wow that silver thread looks very beautiful. I also thought of a little container to hold little things :)
I had never thought about the function of a coaster, now that you mention about the noise or the water falling on the table it makes more sense π .
Thank you!
Yes, the functions of a coaster didn't occur to me at first either, though with all the things my mama doesn't like without it, it's quite functional haha. π
Thanks for commenting @lauramica! :-)
When you named the oven glove I was... good job
As for the coaster it is beautiful and your mom is so right, cheers.
Thank you @leslieq78! Cheers to you too! π
