Enjoying Point Beach at the End of Day.

Last Sunday, during the late afternoon to early evening, we went down to Point Beach, the most southern point of the Golden Mile in Durban, South Africa. My goal was to capture the feeling/atmosphere of the day ending with the sun setting in the west.

The challenge is the fact that we live on the east coast. Thus, I have captured several photos of the sun rising over the ocean. But capturing the sunset, it wouldn't be easy to include the ocean.

Yesterday I shared some photos in this post where I walked out on the Ku D' Ta Pier, taking some shots where I tried to get as much of the ocean in as possible.

This is the pier I'm talking about.

We first took a walk on the main esplanade above Point Beach. This is looking up north, toward the Golden Mile, with the city of Durban in the background.

This is one of the walkways just below the esplanade along the beach. From here you can get access to change rooms and easy access to the beach at various places. This photo was taken at about 6 pm.

The next photo was taken from the same spot as the photo above, but looking in the opposite (northerly) direction with a view over the city. We enjoyed the last bit of daylight with some thick clouds hanging over the city.

We went down onto the beach. It was clear that it was the ideal time for a walk on the beach and many people shared that idea...lol.

This guy's luck ran out...

We saw this piece of wreckage sticking out above water in the shallow water.

Another view of Durban from Point Beach. It was getting darker quickly now...

In my last photo for this post, we were back on the main esplanade, on our way back to the car.

I captured this shot of the sun disappearing behind the clouds.

And that's it for today, folks.

Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!

Walks along promenade used to be most enjoyable, nice to see you still enjoy coming down.

Yes, I do agree. The promenade is not what it used to be by far, but there are some spots where we would still maybe go for a walk...but we are careful, scouting out the area first, and even then, we are very choosy about where we would get out...and when...

Life should never be about looking over your shoulder constantly, I would rather take my chances walking with wildlife in the bush. !LOLZ

I couldn't agree more!!! That is so true!!

Talking about walking with wildlife in the bush... Our oldest daughter is currently preparing for a marathon that they are going to run through the Tala Game Reserve.

That will be an amazing run, I think they do similar through iSimangaliso Wetlands, not sure if it is running or cycling or both. Wish her well and I hope weather isn't too warm!

I do agree! Our grass is still okay though, but the rain would be welcome...without the floods of course😅!

When this breaks again let us hope not too much electricity in the air, if only they could harness that and power us up!
