I am leary about AI, but there have been hints of it along the way, so I guess I didn't consider it a surprise. I waffle on how I feel about it. Surely there are areas or categories of things that it will truly help, but then there are a lot more things where it can be used so deceptively, that I'm concerned it will only muddy the truth causing more fake news (& etc) that can be made to appear more realistic.
The attempts on Trumps life didn't surprise me either. Of course I could not have predicted when or where, I was concerned it would happen before the elections and even now, before the 20th and if not.....the possibilities could be there through his whole term, so I was ever so glad they were not successful, I'm not confident that is the end of it though.
The drone stuff maybe surprised me more, but true to form, our treasonous leaders have not come clean about it, even when the people begged and demanded for them too. That part of it is not surprising though as there are many things they have done right in the people's faces that have been bad and wrong and they didn't care a bit! Just kept on doing it and .... that is the same about the drones. They are working for themselves and not our people or what is the best for our country.
Yes the waters will be muddied by deep fake videos as the technology gets better in the future. I have heard that future videos from celebrities or news outlets will be cryptographically signed to validate authenticity muck like the kings wax seal would.
I figured someone will be accused of something they didn't do, but what ?? ... now there is an AI video of them doing it, not real, but there it is. Created evidence.
OH ! ...and I love the top photo where the faded/fogged sun is a clock face.
