Hiking with the Blue Tent: Lauterbrunnen, to Sulseewli

So I packed my blue tent, which by now feels more like a travel buddy than just gear, and started walking out of Lauterbrunnen. If you ever been there you know the valley looks like something from a fairy tale. Waterfalls everywhere. Cows with bells that sound like a random orchestra. And me, sweating already after ten minutes.

The trail started nice and easy but then it went up. And up. And up. I swear some Swiss person thought it would be funny to build a path straight into the sky. My legs where crying but my mood was good because every turn gave a new postcard view. I even stopped to eat a sandwich sitting on a rock pretending I was some wild mountain man. Except my sandwich was peanut butter so not very alpine.

At night I pitched my blue tent near the lake Sulseewli. The water was so calm it looked like glass. A few cows walked by and stared at me like I was the evening entertainment. I cooked noodles on my tiny stove. It tasted like pure Michelin star food after a long day of hiking.

Sleeping there was magic. Stars above, the mountains making shadows, and me snug in my sleeping bag. Of course at three in the morning I had to pee and almost tripped over my own tent ropes. But hey thats part of the adventure.

Next morning I woke up with the sun touching the peaks and the whole lake turning golden. I felt like the main character of some epic movie. Except with messy hair and socks that smelled like old cheese.

Would I do it again? 100 percent. Just me, my blue tent and the Swiss mountains.
