Visiting the Sanctuary of Our Lady Of La Candelaria on Sundays! - ENG-

Hello my dear friends! I hope you are very well, today I want to show you a beautiful place that I visit every Sunday and where I spend quite a pleasant time, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Candelaria, which I love. I hope you like it!.
This beautiful sanctuary dates from 1708 and was built to venerate the Virgin of La Candelaria, whose veneration was brought to the country by Canarian immigrants. It is located in the Candelaria Parish in the historic center of Caracas, which is one of the oldest parishes in the capital. It has a neoclassical style and is well preserved inside (in fact, it is currently being restored), and it has many things that catch my eye and I love to admire every time I go, such as the beautiful lamps that hang from the ceiling which are quite bright but especially at night.
The altar is beautiful, it has a very well elaborated design and is covered in gold and in the center is a beautiful image of the Virgin of Candelaria, which always has a beautiful mantle that a Venezuelan designer makes every year. Once I did an activity there, they told me that all the decoration of the altar has been maintained since its beginnings, so I love that it has a lot of history. Several years ago the walls were painted in neutral colors but the last time it was restored they added olive green and terracotta red.
The temple is one of the most important in Caracas since it is also the place where the remains of Doctor José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros rest, a Venezuelan blessed who is about to be canonized, for which thousands of people come to his grave daily to make requests. After her beatification, they built a small altar on one side of the altar in which they also placed a first degree relic and it is very beautiful since they also placed a beautiful statue in the center, and a Virgin on top. Many people also come to visit the altar every day of the week and one day a week my mother and I attend to all the people who come to visit since we belong to the Sentinels of Dr José Gregorio.
It's also very beautiful on the outside. As a curious fact, I would like to tell you that in all the years that I have been visiting the sanctuary, I had never realized that in the upper part of the roof there is an image of Our Lady of La Candelaria perched on the top. And I've literally lived nearby since I was born hahaha so when I took the photographs I was delighted with this image. I love that they have put a large statue of Doctor José Gregorio Hernández outside because every time I pass by, I stop to pay tribute to him.
My city seems incredible to me and I really like to visit historical sites, I have the advantage of living in the downtown area and it is easy for me to visit them. This one in particular is very important to me and it has been an immense pleasure to share it with you, I hope you liked it as much as I did.
