murphy's or yhprum's : July 16 2025
another busy day in the office, i wonder when this will stop. busy in the sense that i will have to physically be in the office and return home after everything is done. that is the busy part. work tasks are not really busy though, not complaining on that part.
the food truck this time was chicken, and once again we availed. but we ate inside the office building, 11th floor. it rained that morning and the grounds were still wet. and the weather was just gloomy threatening of another rainfall.
as usual, we went to the convenient store after lunch and there it was, our hunch came true. it rained. it would have been disastrous if we got caught while outside in the open.
it was during snacks time when a friend mentioned of murphy's law. i was discussing about yesterday's blog entry and the discussion veered into the topic that if something has the potential to fail, it likely will, and at the worst moment. it really was a skeptical view of the world, one that i do not want to be a part of. but the more i reflected, the more it seemed true because of the recent bad things happening to me.
i have no clue if this "law" was ever proven. how could they prove it in the first place? but how could this be disproved as well? it was such a negative view of the world, one which instills fear. fearing of something even with the littlest probability is pointless. everything is possible in this world if you think about it, but there is really no use in delving too much about it. i would rather think of all good things that could happen and that law has a rather unique name.
yhprum's law, everything that can work, will work. and i'm not joking about that, it is just "murphy" spelled backwards. but this sounds more like it. i'd rather believe in this one. i'd rather believe in the possibilities of successes, in the possibilities of good things happening. it is just a positive perspective. but it is rather sad thinking that because of the jargon name, you somehow justify the existence of the opposite law.
the day continued on with these laws in my head. i guess murphy's law will force you to think of risk management, this is the only good thing that i can think of from this. it forces you to think of failure plans, everyday is not always rainbows and butterflies.
so in my situation, the train to home could be delayed.
the colleague housemate also said that she wanted to walk from ueno station to home, she cancelled the last minute. my housemate and i were supposed to go to the gym tonight, he got sick and cancelled. i planned to have a 1 hour treadmill session, was cut short to 30 minutes. oh my, murphy's law is proving to be real.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
