how to capture transportation? : June 11 2025
just look at this rack of bicycles in this building complex, isn't this a lot! and this was just one of three sheds of doubly stacked bicycles. this country is really a bicycle country. suddenly opening with this picture does not make sense but consider this as the best picture of the day. (and this is my entry to @friendlymoose contest with TRANSPORTATION as theme of the week)
it was raining in the morning so i had little to no hope of going for a nightwalk this day. that sky was just gloomy until late afternoon. and although the weather apps said that rain stops at around 6 pm, that sky is still not clear at all.
since the sky was a bit scary, i planned to walk locally. a route close by would be fine. here was the first picture taken, it was a different view of our usual train station. now, a playground is built in this side of the station. years back, it was an elementary school. i could still remember how they demolished the buildings slowly, and having a water hose splashing to keep as few of a dust from scattering the neighboring homes.
this part of the city is really residential, i was not joking when i said that before. there were so many small alleys and nooks to discover, but reaching all of them without looking suspicious is just the challenge. who in their right minds would loiter the small residential streets at night?
by the way, this flowering tree i passed by had the best smell that night.

after some twists and turns in small side streets, i finally reached the wide road only to turn at another small alley. i was determined to find more "transportation" shots that day and my other option was the train. so here i was trying to move beside the train tracks in the hopes of taking a quality picture of the train. and that proved to be very difficult.

these flowers sprinkled a little bit of what is left of spring. spring seems to be over, no more turning back. and just like that, rainy days marking the beginning of summer is here.
i was still moving along the train tracks at this point. tokyo skytree is also peeking through the fences.
i finally moved down to the city center, it was here where i decided to make a turn. moving further would take me farther from home, i was still worried of the rain.

tabata station can still be considered close, and i have never really explored this area. although there is really nothing to explore in these areas, this is still a residential place. there were the usual restaurants and grocery shops, and not much else. this golden lady piqued my interest for a bit but located beside a smoking area, i could not stay long.

this walk just showed how close these stations really were. a short distance away, i reached the usual street to our old gym. and here i thought before that these were far places. perspective really change once you get used to things. i got used to walking for hours that my perspective of distance and time has greatly changed. i would like to apologize to whoever walks with me from this point onwards, do not take my word for how close places are.

yeah, trains are really hard to capture. and it not the train that i want to capture, but the moments inside the train from an outside perspective. i guess my phone camera is not made for that. and night shots made that task much difficult. resigned from that plan, took a photo of this lanterned restaurant instead.
when i thought i have quit, here i am with another shot. it is a much slower train, a tram to be accurate. but i was too far. and trams pass by so far and in between. i guess the first thing to do is to get close to the subject. i will do that some other time. for now, i will have to return home for i could feel some droplets on my face. will it still rain? the weather just wants me to go home early.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!

Moving night shots with my camera are almost impossible, your camera takes wonderful photos my friend!👍😊
thanks my friend. day shots would totally give a different feel
The Mrs. iPhone can take much better moving nighttime photos than my iPhone.
I guess it’s all in what you’re willing to pay for your camera!😇😊
Looks like a nice night walk. The streets are looking a bit different when you walk at night. I wish I could smell the tree you mentionened.
!ALIVE !BBH
i wish i could describe the sweet smell better.
