Wednesday Walk - 272 Steps to go inside Batu Caves
Hi, ASEAN Hive Community! This time let me combine Wednesday Walk for this article because the blog really fits into the theme. Yes, we were walking 272 steps to go inside Batu Caves.
Do you dare yourself to go up?
So, my friend and I dared ourselves to go up since it was like once in a lifetime experience. And we thought we were physically fit. We brought bottled water with us to drink when thirsty.
Going up, you will encounter monkeys.
And you can see the Hindu gods and goddesses.
The more you go up, the more monkeys you see. We saw monkeys stealing food from the visitors. Haha!
Omg, seems like he got a packet of chips. And the other one you see is the mother monkey with a baby. Also, she was waiting to find a great opportunity to grab some food.
The trick of going up to the cave is not to make yourself in a hurry. Just relax and enjoy the scenery and the monkeys.
Take a pause when you need to catch your breath or to drink water. Take a little break for your legs.
As they say, this is good for beginners to walk upstairs. At the end of the 272 steps, this one welcomes you.
And another monkey just wanted to chase some tourists. Haha!
This Hindu god statue greeted us as we were approaching the cave.
The smells of bat $h!ts were getting obvious.
Upon entry, you will see people selling souvenir items.
We were surprised it was such a huge cave so more steps and walking around. And yes, another stairs to climb.
And we saw a hole where the sunlight enters as a natural source of light.
The photo says Sri Valli Deivanai Murugan Temple Batu Caves.
Okay, it's time to visit the temple.
And we were just admiring the caves.
Next time, I need to know this Hindu god Murugan as I have no idea who he is.
Just looking at this photo, I can smell the incense and the flowers.
The temple near the limestones.
Time to look up!
Alright, I haven't posted the other photos as I need to do some research and learn who were these gods and goddesses I captured. That's for the next article.
It was time for us to go down. It was really hot in Malaysia and my friend was sweating a lot. We finished our bottled water and we wanted to buy another drinking water.
This golden statue of Lord Murugan.
I liked taking photos again when we were going down.
It was really hot so I decided to do another photo ops with my colorful umbrella. Oh well, my umbrella was such a nice prop for this. And hey, the pigeons wanted to be in the photo as well. :D So cute!
Would you dare yourself to climb 272 steps to Batu Caves?

The track of stairs on the climb seem very worth it. The steeling monkies hehe I've seen them in action. They have no fear to get foods from us. At the top more downhill and uphill stairs but much worth to see the views you shared with us :)
