Ogtong Cave Resort is a Must-Visit in Santa Fe town on Bantayan Island

Hi, Asean Hive Community! This is my first time posting here so let me introduce myself. I am iTravelRox, you can call me Rox and I am from Cebu, Philippines.

For my first post, I am sharing with you some photos of Bantayan Island specifically at Ogtong Cave Resort.

Bantayan Island is located in the northern part of Cebu and consists of three towns: Santa Fe, Bantayan Town, and Madridejos.

Ogtong Cave Resort is a sister company of Santa Fe Beach Club. The beach resort you can see is just near the port of Santa Fe.

I have no idea how much is the accommodation per night of stay here but I bet is expensive. Only the rich people can afford it.

I've been to Bantayan Island many times as we spent the Holy Week here during my childhood with my relatives.

I heard about the famous Ogtong Cave back then but my parents could not afford to go there. I didn't know that the entrance fee to go there was expensive.

By the time I got a job, I decided to visit it. The pay to go inside is PHP 100 and you can enjoy swimming inside the famous Ogtong Cave.

Anyway, we rented a bike near the accommodation. You can also rent a motorbike. With a motorbike, it's easier to get around the island, meaning you can visit other towns of Bantayan and Madridejos.

We just parked the bike outside. This was in 2010 or 2011. Nobody took the bike.

This is the reception area. We went inside to pay for the entrance fee and swim in the cave.

The little rotonda near the reception area.

It was really hot that day. They have a nice reception area.

Here is the swimming pool but we prefer to swim in the sea.

Just enjoyed taking photos inside the resort.

And look at the clear seawater. You can enjoy snorkeling here. I remember there was a family enjoying their family outing with roasted pig or lechon baboy. I was salivating. Hehe!

ogtong cave 10.jpg

Of course, it's time to explore the cave. Uh no, it is not that big. It was a small area and they developed this place because the water inside the cave was so clear. But you can still enjoy swimming here.

ogtong cave 11.jpg

I just stood near the water just to see how clear it was. My camera wasn't waterproof so I was very careful not to drop it on the water.

ogtong cave 12.jpg

It was scorching hot in the summer. Better put on sunblocks.

ogtong cave 13.jpg

We never took a lot of photos but we enjoyed swimming here. I was reserving the energy of my battery that was good for one day only.

This is the restaurant of the resort when we passed by.

We were so hungry, the sun was still up. We had to leave as we needed to eat. Overall, it was a nice visit to Ogtong Cave Resort.

I have been here as well some years ago! It is a nice place and I also really liked the swimmingpool to cool down. We rented a motorbike and drove around the island. I love bantayan (and it's all you can eat restaurants)

Wow, that's so nice to know you have been to this place. <3 Too bad, I missed the all-you-can-eat restaurants. There were not so many restaurants back then. I've been on this island since we were kids to see my relatives. :D
