Mont Joly in the French Alps

Back in April 2022, the whole family went to the French Alps to spend their winter ski experience in Saint-Gervais-Les-Baines. As I am still a beginner, my husband goes to more difficult slopes. His favorite is to go to Mont Joly.

I asked my husband to take photos for me. I didn't take my Nikon D5100 with me as I need to concentrate on learning to ski on the beginner's slope. I spent 2-3 hours practicing. Of course, these photos are for publishing on social media. Hehe!

As a beginner, I ski on the green slope. My husband skis on red and blue. If he is tired, he skis on the green slope.

At this moment, my husband had a view of fresh snow. I was jealous that I wasn't able to take this kind of photo. But I am happy he shared this with me.

It was my first time skiing in the French Alps. I was teary-eyed when my husband made my dream come true as I wanted to ski in South Korea back in 2017 but it never happened.

He was happy to know that I am the adventurous kind of girl. He never thought that I was really interested to try a winter sport.

When I saw the views, I was really in awe. I couldn't believe that a girl from a tropical island got her first ski experience in the French Alps.

I usually see this view in a travel magazine or postcards.

My husband promised me that we could have a yearly trip to the French Alps so that I could improve my skills to ski.

Also, he wants our kids to learn the winter ski as well. Our son already got his first ski experience. Will post photos of him on the next article.

Although I don't miss winter at all right now, these photos are great. I can feel the fresh air just by looking at them 😂

A true winter fairy tale! I hope you've been learning the carving technique so you can swap your ski poles for your Nikon for the next season 😊

Haha I've been watching a lot of Youtube videos on how to do the carving technique. It's really difficult. My husband is the expert as he can take videos of me while we are both skiing. :D

I know, I started skiing late too, but with a bit of perseverance it works. I've heard that my technique is not very elegant 🙃, but I can go to any slope and I can stop 😊. For me, it is enough. Having a good skier in the house will make it even easier for you!

That's really awesome. I tried the red and blue slopes just a few months ago in March 2023, and I was like, "Gosh, this is suicide!" Hahaha!

That's when I realized it is such a risky sport.

Haha 🤣🤣🤣 As with any sport, you have to be careful. And you have to adapt your speed to your ability and the conditions on the slopes. And of course you need a bit of luck 😁🙃

I think you're doing OK, and you'll get better with time. Children don't know fear, so they learn quickly and ski faster than us. We put our son in a 4 day ski school two years ago, and on the last day of school we were already skiing together on the slopes. They are really amazing!

Wow, that's amazing. Yeah, I see kids while on training. They were really good. Hoping our son can be a great skier in the future. hehe
