Monomad Challenge: My Sister and her Pets in Black and White

Hi, Monomads and Black and White photographers! This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Using my Nikon D5100 with a 50mm lens.

One afternoon in our hometown, I was so bored I decided to take a photo of my sister so that I could practice using the 50mm lens.

She looked so bored in the first photo. We were at home.

I told her to pick up her kittens and play with them.

Just playing with the shadow and natural light.

Later on, we went to the cemetery to visit our loved ones.

Since we were in the cemetery, I told her to pretend like Sadako.

When it was colored, I have to say that the photos were sort of plain and boring. I wanted to delete the photos. I decided to change it to black and white. Black and white changed the perspective from being boring to something dramatic.

With the last two photos, it wasn't obvious that it was taken in the cemetery with her background as the graves of the dead people. The 50 mm lens made the graves obscured.

I was imagining that my sister and I could have made a Halloween photoshoot in the cemetery where she appeared as the white lady. Just kidding.

The purpose of this photoshoot is to show how these plain and boring colored photos made it more interesting when it turned into black and white images.

That's the reason I don't delete all images anymore. I can just play around using Adobe Lightroom.

Adobe Lightroom? Is it an editing app? So originally they were colored sis.

yep, adobe lightroom is an editing app. yep colored sya. na bored lang ako sa photos. pwede ka naman gumamit ng other editing app na libre tapos change mo lang to black and white.

I like the last one to me it looks like a movie or book cover photo. Since it was taken at the cemetery maybe the title,"The Living and the Dead". 🤣 😂
