Peacock in Wonderland 🦚 | 蓝孔雀漫游仙境

When I saw Qurator's Photo Quest for this week: Wonderland, the famous curious little girl Alice immediately popped up. Since I'm too old to be Alice, and I have to be the photographer rather than the model, let's follow another model to a wonderland today.🙂

So I met my model, a blue peacock, in Huerto del Cura, a wonderful botanical garden in Elche, Spain. The garden is an oasis haven filled with palm trees and succulents. The ponds also have fish, ducks, and turtles. In the middle of this very dry region, it's truly a green wonderland.

Walking through the garden paths, I relished the precious (relatively) humid air, the lovely coexistence of Mediterranean and tropical plants, and the peaceful coexistence of peafowls (there were peahens too) and humans.

看到Qurator这周的摄影主题是Wonderland，有名的Alice in Wonderland便闪现在脑海。因为我的年纪足以当爱丽丝阿姨了，而且我得要是拍照的人而不是模特，所以就让我们跟着另一位模特来漫游仙境吧。

我在西班牙埃尔切的植物园遇到了这只漂亮的蓝孔雀，还有几只母孔雀和白孔雀也在园子里悠闲地散着步。这个大植物园里种满棕榈树和多肉植物，其中的池塘里还有鱼、鸭子和乌龟。在这块非常干燥的地区，这绝对算得上是一处绿洲仙境啦。

虽然英语里通常用同一个词peacock来指称孔雀，但其实peacock是专指雄孔雀，而雌孔雀则是peahen，看看词尾cock和hen就知道了。统称的孔雀是peafowl，fowl是禽类的意思。

最近音乐播放器还真是应景，刚写这篇的时候正好放到Russian Red的歌The Sun The Trees。很喜欢这个西班牙姑娘，清新自然，灵气满满。跟王羽佳一样，表演时也会丢弃高跟鞋，怎么舒服怎么来······
好久前买过她专辑，这些年没有关注过近况，刚查了下还在做音乐，搬到了洛杉矶发展，也是个阳光灿烂棕榈遍布的地方，为她开心。
