I saw another earlier theme from Qurator's Photo Quest: Panorama, and now I would like to share some stunning pano views from South America. They are all from the high-altitude mountains with thin air, so it's literally breathtaking too.

The first two panos were shot by the Quilotoa Lake in Ecuador's Andes Mountains. This turquoise crater lake is nestled within the Quilotoa Caldera, formed by a volcanic eruption.

I joined a small day-tour group from the capital city Quito and reached the settlement by van. Hiking along the crater rim is an unforgettable experience, with mesmerizing panoramic views of the shimmering lake and the surrounding landscapes.

I saw a few other travelers descending to the lake's shore for kayaking. That must be a fun thing to do as well, and I'd want to attempt it if I ever have the chance to visit the beautiful lake again.

The following panos are from Bolivia's Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca. These twin lakes, located in the southwest of the nation, showcase different shades of vibrant colours. Laguna Verde has an emerald green colour owing to its rich mineral concentration, whilst Laguna Blanca has a white appearance due to its reflecting characteristics.

When I visited this wild area, the lakes seemed to be fairly dry, with low water levels. The surreal backdrop of the Licancabur Volcano and the neighbouring Andes Mountains added to the enchantment. What captivating natural beauty to witness!

The last two panoramic photos were taken on a hilltop in Copacabana, Bolivia, near the Peruvian border. By the lake, I hiked up a narrow track that led steeply, and at the top, this incredible sight stretched out in front of me.

The water you see here is not from the sea, but from Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable body of water. The town's brightly coloured buildings were backed by rugged hills and drenched in golden sunshine, staring silently out over the huge expanse of the deep blue lake.
