Hoy salí con gran ánimo y con una pequeña misión, además de otras cosas que debía hacer. Pero la verdadera misión era cumplir un deseo de esos que vienen con ojos brillantes y bocas impacientes, mis hijos me habían pedido encarecidamente unos cambures o bananas, su fruta favorita.

Al llegar a mi destino, me dirigí, como siempre, a la esquina donde ese señor amable vende las más dulces y perfectas. Pero, para mi sorpresa y tristeza, el lugar estaba vacío. El señor no estaba ahí. No sé cuál sería el motivo de su ausencia, pero lo cierto es que mi misión falló.

Por unos segundos, me quedé ahí, con el bolso colgando y las ganas de haber podido saciar el antojo de mis hijos. Pero cuando no se puede, ni modo.

Les conté a mis hijos al volver. Me miraron con resignación madura y me dijeron, "No importa, mamá, otro día será" Y en ese instante, sentí que, a veces, las pequeñas ausencias también tienen su encanto.
