Hoy quiero contarles algo que me tiene el corazón chiquito, el cual está ocurriendo en mi familia materna, quiero hablarles de mi tía Pep, el cual fuimos a visitar, ella es la hija mayor de mi abuela, ella hoy tiene 86 años, en su juventud fue una mujer muy luchadora, sabia y de fuerte carácter, toda la familia la admiramos y respetamos como a nadie, ella era la cabeza de la familia, algo que sucediera, para bien o para mal, tenía que ser pasado por sus manos y darle el visto bueno.

Today I want to tell you something that has my heart small, which is happening in my maternal family, I want to tell you about my aunt Pep, which we went to visit, she is the oldest daughter of my grandmother, she is 86 years old today, in her youth she was a very feisty woman, wise and of strong character, the whole family admired and respected her like no one else, she was the head of the family, anything that happened, for good or for bad, had to be passed through her hands and give her the go-ahead.

Pero vamos al pasado, mi tía Pep, se enamoró siendo muy jovencita, del cual concibió su primera y única hija, y como normalmente pasa, algunas parejas no llegan a permanecer juntas, pues ellos se separaron y mi tía quedó sola con su hija, ella la crio y educó sola, más adelante mi tía tuvo un nuevo amor, con el cual nunca quiso tener otro hijo, ya que en aquellos tiempos era muy mal visto tener un hijo de un papá, y uno de otro, el qué dirá para aquellos tiempos era muy importante.

But let's go to the past, my aunt Pep, fell in love when she was very young, with whom she conceived her first and only daughter, and as usually happens, some couples do not get to stay together, they separated and my aunt was left alone with her daughter, she raised and educated her alone, later my aunt had a new love, with whom she never wanted to have another child, because in those times it was frowned upon to have a child from one father, and one from another, what will they say for those times was very important.

Total que así pasaron los años, mi tía Pep, que tenía una muy buena posición social y económica, la tía que todos valoraban por ser la primogénita de la familia, por su gran sabiduría, y también por qué no decirlo era la que mejor estaba económicamente en aquellos tiempos, pues su casa era una mansión con un patio muy grande, con grandes comodidades, en sí con mucha abundancia en todos los aspectos, por esto su casa siempre se mantenía full de familia, todos iban a casa de la tía Pep, para una cosa u otra siempre se reunía toda la familia, y mi tía nos atendía a todos con gran amabilidad.

So the years went by, my aunt Pep, who had a very good social and economic position, the aunt that everyone valued for being the first born of the family, for her great wisdom, and also why not say it was the one who was better off financially in those times, because her house was a mansion with a very big yard, with great comforts, with a lot of abundance in all aspects, for this reason her house was always full of family, everyone went to Aunt Pep's house, for one thing or another the whole family always met, and my aunt took care of us all with great kindness.

Lo más triste vino con los años mis abuelos que eran sus padres, murieron, su esposo con el tiempo también murió, y como si fuera poco su única hija también murió, y mi tía quedó sola en aquella inmensa casa, y de paso mi tía ahora perdió la vista por completo de ambos ojos, y debido a esto se calló y se fracturó un hueso de la cadera que le impide caminar, lo más triste de todo es que ella está sola enferma ciega e inmóvil en una mansión tan grande, que además se está deteriorado toda, y ahora es muy raro que alguien la visite, que la ayude, son muy pocos los que lo hacen.

The saddest thing came with the years, my grandparents who were her parents, died, her husband eventually died too, and as if that were not enough her only daughter also died, and my aunt was left alone in that huge house, and by the way my aunt now lost her sight completely in both eyes, and because of this she fell and fractured a bone in her hip that prevents her from walking, the saddest thing of all is that she is alone, sick, blind and immobile in such a large mansion, which is also deteriorating, and now it is very rare that someone visits her, to help her, there are very few who do.

La mayoría de la familia cada quien hizo su vida, muchos están fuera del país debido a la situación económica que estamos cruzando los venezolanos, y los que aún permanecen en el país debido a su situación económica no pueden ayudarla y el que puede ayudar, no lo hacen, es lamentable como uno se sacrifica tanto por muchos y después que muchos, no hagan nada por uno.

The majority of the family each one made their own life, many are out of the country due to the economic situation that we Venezuelans are going through, and those who still remain in the country due to their economic situation cannot help her and those who can help, do not do it, it is unfortunate how one sacrifices so much for many and then that many, do nothing for one.

En mi familia mi mamá que es su hermana también está muy mayor, con ella nos reunimos anualmente todos los hijos de mi mamá, y vamos a ver a la tía Pep, a llevarle un rato de alegría a compartir a brindar lo que tenemos ojalá y pudiéramos estar siempre en ese lugar para poderla ayudar, ya que le hemos ofrecido ir a vivir con la familia y ella no quiere abandonar su casa, algunos de nosotros vivimos en otros estados del país y solo nos reunimos anualmente lo que nos queda es pedirle a Dios que la ayude que la acompañe.

In my family my mom who is her sister is also very old, with her we meet annually all the children of my mom, and we go to see Aunt Pep, to bring her a little joy to share to give what we have, I wish we could always be in that place to help her, since we have offered her to go live with the family and she does not want to leave her home, some of us live in other states of the country and we only meet annually, what we have left is to ask God to help her and to accompany her.

Gracias a Dios hay un primo que ella crio como su hijo, y él es quien va y la atiende y alimenta. Si no fuera por él, no estaría aún con vida.

Thank God there is a cousin that she raised as her son, and he is the one who goes and takes care of her and feeds her. If it wasn't for him, not would still be alive.
