Hola amigos de Hive, hoy les traigo unas fotografías de una tuteca o geco, que me han gustado bastante, sobre todo por la luz y los colores de las fotografías, así como la quietud de este animal, que me permitió acercarme con tranquilidad y hacer todas las fotos que quise.

Bajé al estacionamiento a atender algo del vehículo, y en el suelo de pronto vi este geco, que no seguramente salió espantado de algún escondrijo dentro del vehículo y quedo expuesto en el suelo sobre las algas, que crecen por la humedad en el suelo por esta época del año.

I went down to the parking lot to take care of something in the vehicle, and on the ground I suddenly saw this gecko, which probably got scared out of some hiding place inside the vehicle and was exposed on the ground on the algae, which grows due to the humidity on the ground at this time of the year.

Al ver su quietud , y como la luz del sol lo iluminaba directamente, pensé que era un momento propició para hacer algunas fotografías, de manera que saqué mi teléfono e hice un par de disparos, , de pronto se movió y cambio de posición, hice más fotografías, aunque ahora una parte de su cabeza estaba en sombra, lo que le quitaba vistosidad. Aun asi hice unas cuantas fotografías así.

Seeing its stillness, and as the sunlight illuminated it directly, I thought it was a propitious moment to take some pictures, so I took out my phone and took a couple of shots, suddenly it moved and changed position, I took more pictures, although now a part of its head was in shadow, which took away its attractiveness. I still took a few pictures like this.

Luego al ver que no se movía, pensé que si se quedaba allí podía correr peligro de ser aplastado lastimado, asi que lo subí sobre una hoja y lo llevé a una zona verde en donde no pasan vehículos y escasamente personas.

When I saw that he didn't move, I thought that if he stayed there he could be in danger of being crushed and hurt, so I put him on a leaf and took him to a green area where there are no vehicles and very few people passing by.

Sobre este animal pude averiguar en Wikipedia que pertenece a la familia Gekkonidae, existen cerca de 1500 especies y se distinguen de otros lagartos, por sus almohadillas en sus patas, que les permiten trepar paredes. De igual forma, también los caracteriza sus sonidos e interacción con otros gecos. Además son de hábitos nocturnos y se encuentran mucho en las casas de zonas tropicales, y se alimentan de pequeños insectos.

About this animal I could find out in Wikipedia that it belongs to the family Gekkonidae, there are about 1500 species and they are distinguished from other lizards, by their pads on their legs, which allow them to climb walls. They are also characterized by their sounds and interaction with other geckos. They are also nocturnal and are often found in houses in tropical areas, and feed on small insects.
