A Magical City

Caracas is a city full of singularities and contrasts, but by walking its streets and feeling its energy, we can understand why it is an urban environment that is full of life, has its own personality and moves at an overwhelming pace. Being a national capital, it is a very convulsive metropolis, whose metropolitan area is capable of gathering almost 8 million inhabitants, who daily take to the streets to walk from one place to another, which generates an important urban agglomeration, resulting in a dynamic commercial sector and congested public spaces.

Una Ciudad Mágica

Caracas es una ciudad llena de singularidades y contrastes, pero al recorrer sus calles y sentir su energía, podemos comprender de qué se trata de un entorno urbano que se encuentra lleno de vida, tiene personalidad propia y avanza a un ritmo avasallante. Por ser una capital nacional se trata de una metrópolis muy convulsa, cuya área metropolitana es capaz de recoger a casi 8 millones de habitantes, los cuales a diario se vuelcan a las calles para andar de un lugar a otro, lo cual genera una importante aglomeración urbana, que tiene como resultado un dinámico sector comercial y congestionados espacios públicos.

Like most Latin American cities, it has been growing at the pace of the times it has had to live, therefore, we will not find here a very orderly urban layout, but on the contrary we will marvel at the evolution of a history, which was forged to the rhythm of the needs, the space and the ingenuity of the architects. Small buildings, large towers, sloping spaces and different architectural designs, are a little of what we can find within the urban profile of the city, which is characterized by always looking towards modernity and the future, seeking to break records and set milestones.

Está como la mayoría de las ciudades latinoamericanas fue creciendo al ritmo de los tiempos que le tocó vivir, por lo tanto, no encontraremos acá un trazado urbano muy ordenado, sino que al contrario nos maravillaremos con el devenir de una historia, la cual fue forjada al ritmo de las necesidades, el espacio y el Ingenio de los arquitectos. Edificios pequeños, grandes torres, espacios a desnivel y diferentes diseños arquitectónicos, son un poco de lo que podemos encontrar dentro del perfil urbano de la ciudad, el cual se caracteriza por siempre mirar hacia la modernidad y el futuro, buscando romper récords y marcar hitos.

This small coastal valley is marked by the scarcity of flat land, but at the same time the layout of highways and large avenues, have generated an unprecedented road network, which undoubtedly has left an indelible mark on the geographical space. Which has been totally transformed by the hand of man, and so little or nothing remains of those lands that hundreds of years ago are covered by nature and furrowed by rivers and streams.

Este pequeño valle costero está marcado por la escasez de tierras planas, pero al mismo tiempo el trazado de autopistas y grandes avenidas, han generado una red vial sin precedentes, la cual sin duda alguna ha dejado una huella imborrable sobre el espacio geográfico. El cual ha sido totalmente transformado por la mano del hombre, y es así como poco o nada queda de esas tierras que hace cientos de años están cubiertas por naturaleza y surcadas por ríos y riachuelos.

Walking without pressure or ties through the streets of Caracas, is to immerse yourself in a world of magnificence and architectural diversity, with which we can enjoy the wonders created by man and the bounties that nature gives us. To go out and simply enjoy our surroundings is to enjoy how simple and fleeting our lives can be, that is why sometimes it is necessary to take a breath, look ahead and simply enjoy the moment.

Caminar sin presiones ni ataduras por las calles de Caracas, es sumergirse en un mundo de magnificencia y diversidad arquitectónica, con el cual podemos disfrutar de las maravillas creadas por el hombre y las bondades que nos regala la naturaleza. Salir y simplemente disfrutar de nuestro entorno es disfrutar de lo sencillo y fugaz, que pueden ser nuestras vidas, por eso a veces es necesario tomarnos un respiro, mirar hacia el frente y simplemente gozar el momento.

Since I started taking photographs I realized that I have the ability to capture those small moments where the streets and avenues seem deserted, allowing me to look clearly and accurately at the urban scene, with which the buildings, roads and squares become the protagonists of their own history, generating a mystical atmosphere full of energy, which is capable of transmitting many feelings and deep emotions.

Desde que comencé a tomar fotografías me di cuenta de que tengo la habilidad de captar esos pequeños momentos en donde las calles y avenidas parecen desiertas, permitiendo de esta forma que mira clara y precisa la escena urbana, con lo cual los edificios, las calzadas y las plazas se convierten en protagonistas de su propia historia, generando un ambiente místico y lleno de energías, el cual es capaz de transmitir muchos sentimientos y profundas emociones.
