Everyday Caracas
Immersing yourself in the daily life of a city as complex as Caracas is a fascinating activity, since we not only focus on the small details of social life, but we also become infected by an amazing urban environment. From a structural point of view, each line represents a unique idea, driven by the unknown and, in many cases, countless broken paradigms, which seek to create a space that will stand the test of time and become an iconic place.

Sumergirse en la cotidianidad de una ciudad tan compleja como Caracas es una actividad fascinante, puesto que no solo nos concentramos en los pequeños detalles de la movida social, sino que también nos contagiamos con un entorno urbano alucinante, desde el punto de vista estructural cada trazo representa una idea única, puesta por lo desconocido y en muchos casos un sinfín de paradigmas rotos, los cuales buscan dar como resultado un espacio que perdure en el tiempo y se convierta en un lugar icónico.
When we read a post about Caracas, we are likely to find ourselves in the center or east of the city, but the truth is that there are many other spaces that are just as interesting and rich as those mentioned above. This is how we arrive at the center and from there we head south, among old streets, historic sites, and areas formerly known as spaces of tolerance, where houses abound, with designs typical of the 1950s and a spirit that seems to have been frozen in time.
Cuando leemos un post sobre Caracas es muy probable que nos ubiquemos en el centro o en el este de la ciudad, pero la verdad es que existen muchos otros espacios tan interesantes y ricos como los antes mencionados, es de esta manera como llegamos al centro y de allí partimos hacia el sur, entre calles viejas, lugares históricos y zonas antiguamente conocidas como espacios de tolerancia, en donde abundan las casas, los diseños típicos de los años 50 Y aquel espíritu que pareciera haberse congelado en el tiempo.
We could venture to say that this is one of the oldest areas of the city, and we would probably be right, but as we move forward, we realize that we are in an area that has remained relatively unchanged over time, where few real estate developers are interested in investing, and where society has found a space to continue moving forward despite the difficulties, trying to improve its environment and fighting for a better future.
Podríamos aventurarnos a decir que esta es una de las zonas más viejas de la ciudad y quizás tendríamos razón, pero al avanzar nos damos cuenta de que nos encontramos en un área más bien pausada a través del tiempo, en donde pocos desarrollos inmobiliarios se interesan en invertir Y en donde la sociedad ha encontrado un espacio para seguir avanzando a pesar de las dificultades, intentando mejorar su entorno y luchando por un futuro mejor.
Here, the streets are divided between large avenues and small cross streets, between squares full of vegetation and endless sidewalks, where the houses reflect a history that spans decades in their facades, and where high-density buildings burst onto the horizon like enormous towers that once boosted a real estate development that seemed unstoppable, but which, over the years, has stagnated to such an extent that the existing buildings remain as an indelible mark of that historical reality.
Aquí las calles se debaten entre grandes avenidas y pequeñas transversales, entre plazas llenas de vegetación y aceras interminables, en donde las casas reflejan en sus fachadas una historia que se cuenta por décadas y en donde los edificios de alta densidad irrumpen en el horizonte como enormes torres que alguna vez auparon un desarrollo inmobiliario que parecía indetenible, pero que con el pasar de los años se vio estancado hasta tal punto de que los edificios ya existentes quedaron como una huella imborrable de esa realidad histórica.
