For several years now, government policies for the city of Caracas have focused on the comprehensive restoration of public spaces, emphasizing historic areas while also seeking to turn this part of the city into a major tourist hub with good services, high security, and a thriving, profitable, high-quality commercial sector.

Desde hace varios años las políticas gubernamentales para la ciudad de Caracas se han centrado en la recuperación integral de los espacios públicos, haciendo énfasis en los entornos históricos y al mismo tiempo tratando de que esta zona de la ciudad se convierta en un polo turístico de gran importancia, buenos servicios, Se cuente con mucha seguridad y al mismo tiempo florezca un sector comercial rentable y de calidad.

This is how, from 2011 to the present, we have seen a 360-degree change in the blocks that make up the historic center of Caracas, where abandoned theaters are now perfectly functional spaces and old mansions have been converted into commercial premises with an open and modern concept, seeking greater integration with the environment while creating a different landscape design more suited to the needs of this century.

Es de esta forma como desde el año 2011 hasta nuestra fecha hemos visto un cambio de 365 grados en aquellas cuadras que componen el casco histórico de Caracas, en donde teatros abandonados ahora son espacios perfectamente funcionales y las viejas casonas se han convertido en locales comerciales con un concepto abierto y moderno, en donde se busca mayor integración con el entorno y al mismo tiempo se genera un diseño paisajístico diferente y más ajustado a las necesidades de este siglo.

As in all areas of the city center, this is also an area where we can find enormous contrasts, since we are on a square that formerly functioned as a market in colonial times, originally bordered by buildings from that era, but over time large, modern towers redefined the skyline, while new monuments were erected on the outskirts of the fountains and among the old sundial.

Como en todas las zonas del centro de la ciudad, esta también es un área en donde podemos encontrar enormes contrastes, puesto que estamos sobre una plaza que antiguamente funcionaba como un mercado de la época colonial, originalmente se encontraba bordeado por construcciones de la época, pero con el pasar del tiempo grandes y modernas torres fueron redefiniendo el horizonte, mientras que nuevos monumentos se alzaron en las periferias de las fuentes y entre el antiguo reloj solar.

What in many cases could be considered an urban aberration, here took shape as a mixed urban space full of details, where little by little we became accustomed to those contrasts that over the years became the very identity of the Caracas spirit. This identity is characterized by an irreverent spirit that seeks constant change and always dreams of a much greater and more successful future.

Lo que en muchos casos podría considerarse como una aberración urbanística, aquí se configuró como un espacio urbano mixto y lleno de detalles, en donde poco a poco nos fuimos acostumbrando a esos contrastes que con el pasar de los años se convirtieron en la identidad propia del sentir caraqueño. El cual se caracteriza por ese sentido irreverente, que busca un constante cambio y que siempre sueña con un futuro mucho más grande y exitoso.

This is one of the oldest squares in the city, surrounded by many stories and new anecdotes that continue to be built upon them. Today, it is a high-traffic area, but it could also be considered a small oasis within a busy urban center. Thanks to its benches, walls, trees, and fountains, this space is the ideal place to sit down, rest for a while, look around, and enjoy the nuances and incredibly fresh atmosphere that make this square a wonderful place.

Esta es una de las plazas más antiguas de la ciudad, está rodeada de muchas historias y sobre ellas se siguen construyendo nuevas anécdotas. En la actualidad es un lugar de alto tránsito, pero increíblemente también se pudiera considerar como un pequeño oasis dentro de un centro urbano muy movido, puesto que gracias a sus bancas, muros, árboles y fuentes, este espacio se constituye como el punto ideal para sentarse a descansar un rato, mirar a nuestro alrededor y disfrutar de esos matices y ese ambiente increíblemente fresco que permanentemente hacen de esta plaza un lugar maravilloso.
