A City in Motion
Today I am going out to explore the city from a different perspective; this time, the tall towers of Caracas will not be the focal point of this photographic adventure, as the idea is to try to capture the dynamism of one of the capital's most important thoroughfares. The Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro Highway crosses the Caracas valley from east to west, transporting millions of people every day as they travel from one place to another in search of their own destinations.

Una Ciudad en Movimiento
Hoy salgo a recorrer la ciudad desde un punto de vista diferente; en esta oportunidad, las grandes torres de Caracas no estarán en el punto focal de esta aventura fotográfica, puesto que la idea es intentar capturar el dinamismo propio de una de las arterias viales más importantes de la capital. La Autopista Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro surca de este a oeste el valle caraqueño, transportando diariamente a millones de personas que circulan de un lado a otro en la búsqueda de sus propios destinos.
Without a doubt, in this century, highways, avenues, and roads are the invisible engine of cities that need to move. Their architecture may seem basically the same everywhere, but the reality is that the environment will always include unique touches, distinctive elements, and landscapes that are sometimes very striking.
Sin duda alguna, en este siglo las autopistas, avenidas y carreteras son el motor invisible de ciudades que necesitan movilizarse. Su arquitectura básicamente pareciera ser la misma en todos lados, pero la realidad es que el entorno siempre incluirá toques únicos, elementos distintivos y paisajes que en ciertas oportunidades son muy llamativos.
Even if we don't want to focus on the city's buildings, it's impossible to find ourselves in the middle of it, raise our camera, and not capture them on the urban horizon, always giving us those incredible contrasts between the urban and the natural, since in that same image we can also see a truly imposing mountain range, which always seems to touch the clouds, forming a protective wall between the city and the outside world.
Aunque no queramos enfocar a los edificios de la ciudad, es imposible encontrarse en medio de ella, levantar nuestra cámara y no capturarlos en el horizonte urbano, siempre regalándonos esos increíbles contrastes entre lo urbano y lo natural, ya que en esa misma imagen también podremos observar una cadena montañosa que es realmente imponente, la cual siempre pareciera tocar las nubes formando un muro protector entre la ciudad y el mundo exterior.
In each image, we can notice many details, but best of all, we find a spectacular combination of elements that may seem ordinary to us, but when frozen in an image, they become very striking. Capturing the life of a city in black and white continues to be a truly profound experience, where we are not only looking at images, but also, without realizing it, interacting with other people's destinies, invisible dreams, and a universe that never stops.
En cada imagen podremos notar muchos detalles, pero lo mejor de todo es que encontramos una combinación espectacular de elementos que tal vez nos parecen cotidianos, pero que al congelarlos en una imagen nos resultan muy llamativos. Capturar la vida de una ciudad en blanco y negro sigue siendo una experiencia realmente profunda, en donde no solamente estamos viendo imágenes, sino que, sin darnos cuenta, también estamos interactuando con destinos ajenos, sueños invisibles y un universo que nunca se detiene.
