Looking up at the sky is one of the most common natural actions among human beings; enjoying its immensity amid its abstract nuances is one of the pleasures that has captivated entire generations. What’s incredible about this natural spectacle is that it’s always present above us, yet it never repeats the same pattern, becoming a living canvas that’s redrawn every minute—fading at night, only to shine once more with grandeur and power the next day with the first rays of the sun.

Mirar al cielo se constituye en una de las acciones naturales más comunes dentro de la especie humana; disfrutar de su inmensidad entre sus matices abstractos es uno de los placeres que ha cautivado a generaciones enteras. Lo increíble de este espectáculo natural es que siempre está presente sobre nosotros, pero nunca repite el mismo trazo, convirtiéndose en un lienzo vivo que se dibuja a cada minuto, que durante la noche, pero que al día siguiente con los primeros rayos del sol brilla de nuevo con grandeza y poder.

Sometimes looking up at the sky is synonymous with tranquility, but it is also a refuge for soothing the sorrows of the soul, dreaming of a brighter future, and letting one’s mind wander amid utopian ideals, where differences, difficulties, and problems do not exist. Personally, I enjoy the sky in all its facets—from sunrise to sunset, from clear days to those when gray clouds seem to envelop everything—but the combination I like best is when those fiery colors illuminate an afternoon in the city; that’s when it becomes an incredibly powerful contrast.

A veces mirar al cielo es sinónimo de tranquilidad, pero también es el refugio para aplacar las tristezas del alma, soñar en un futuro más grande y divagar en medio de ideales utópicos, en donde no existen las diferencias, dificultades o problemas. En lo personal, yo disfruto del cielo en todas sus facetas, desde el amanecer hasta el ocaso, desde los días despejados hasta aquellos en donde las nubes grises parecen envolverlo todo, pero la combinación que más me gusta es cuando esos colores de fuego iluminan una tarde citadina; ahí ya esto se convierte en un contraste increíblemente potente.

Trying to interpret the clouds—their shapes and colors—is perhaps an impossible task, since our own individuality leads us to see different things: what for some may be a moment of deep melancholy, for others signifies a warm and pleasant memory. There are those who love sunny days, vibrant sunsets, and rays of sunlight spilling out from every corner, while others among us enjoy overcast days, constant drizzle, and a grayish hue that envelops everything.

Tratar de interpretar las nubes, sus formas y colores es una tarea quizás imposible de cumplir, ya que nuestra propia individualidad nos hace observar cosas distintas, lo que para algunos tal vez es un momento de profunda melancolía, para otros significa un recuerdo cordial y agradable, hay quienes les gustan los días soleados, los atardeceres vibrantes y los rayos de sol desbordando en cada esquina, mientras cabemos otros que disfrutamos de días encapotados, llovizna constante y un color grisáceo que lo envuelve todo.

Looking up at the sky in Venezuela, gazing at it from Russia, enjoying its grandeur in China, or standing on the beach in Rio de Janeiro means connecting with the same celestial energy—it means savoring a simple, free, and ever-present pleasure. So the next time you look up, remember that in other corners of the world, there are many people doing the same thing—each in their own unique circumstances, but all living within the same world.

Mirar al cielo en Venezuela, divisarlo desde Rusia, disfrutar de su grandeza en China o estar a la orilla de la playa en Río de Janeiro es conectar con una misma energía celestial, es disfrutar de un placer sencillo, gratuito y siempre presente. Así que cuando vuelvas a mirar hacia arriba, recuerda que en otros rincones del mundo hay muchas personas haciendo lo mismo, cada quien en realidades distintas, pero todos viviendo dentro de un mismo mundo.
