Enjoying the Campus

Walking around the campus of the University City of Caracas is always very pleasant, but this feeling is multiplied by 100 when we find ourselves at that time of year when the rains have restored color and magic to a natural environment that gives us a great dose of brightness and life. But apart from that, it is also gratifying to find an environment that is gradually being rehabilitated in terms of its architectural appearance, restoring the campus's functionality, beauty, and personality.

Caminar por el campus de la Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas siempre resulta muy placentero, pero esta sensación se multiplica por 100 cuando nos encontramos en esa época del año en donde las lluvias le han devuelto el color y la magia un entorno natural que nos regala una gran dosis de brillo y mucha vida. Pero aparte de ello, también es gratificante encontrarse con un entorno que poco a poco está siendo rehabilitado en su aspecto arquitectónico, lo cual le devuelve al campus su funcionalidad, su belleza y personalidad.

This is truly an incredible place, where art, nature, and architecture have come together perfectly to give us a truly unique environment, where every landscape looks like something out of a postcard and where the visual richness allows us to take high-quality photographs, where we can admire many details and interesting compositions in which the natural and the artificial are the undisputed protagonists of a perfectly synchronized dance.

Realmente este es un lugar increíble, en donde el arte, la naturaleza y la arquitectura se han conjugado de manera perfecta para regalarnos un entorno realmente único, en donde cada paisaje parece sacado de una postal y en donde la riqueza visual permite generar fotografías de altísima calidad, en donde podemos admirar muchos detalles, interesantes composiciones en donde el aspecto natural y el artificial son los protagonistas indiscutibles de una danza perfectamente sincronizada.

Although the campus is built on a concrete base and has a prominent brutalist style, it is not a cold, geometric, and smooth place. Instead, we find ourselves in a wavy environment where the cement seems to be artistically molded, allowing it to blend in with the natural surroundings. This is perfect for creating a pleasant and welcoming space, where everything is part of the same artistic whole, and where engineering, architecture, and urban planning put their skills at the service of society.

A pesar de que el campus está elaborado en base de concreto y sobresale el estilo brutalista, no nos encontramos con un lugar frío, geométrico y liso, sino que nos adentramos en un entorno ondulado, en donde el cemento parece moldearse de forma artística, lo cual le permite ser asimilado por el entorno natural, situación que es perfecta para generar un espacio agradable y al mismo tiempo acogedor, en donde todo forma parte de un mismo conjunto artístico, en donde la ingeniería, la arquitectura y el urbanismo logran poner sus habilidades al servicio de la sociedad.

Beyond the personal connections I may have with this campus, it is undeniable that the University City of Caracas is a leading reference when it comes to architecture. Furthermore, its declaration as a World Heritage Site further reinforces the fact that it is a masterpiece designed entirely by human ingenuity, where all elements were respected, looked to the future, and built an environment resistant to the passage of time, capable of adapting to new circumstances and visually beautiful.

Más allá de las conexiones personales que yo pueda tener con este campus, es innegable el hecho de que la Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas es un referente de primer orden cuando de arquitectura se trata, además su declaratoria como patrimonio cultural de la humanidad afianza mucho más de qué se trata de una obra maestra totalmente diseñada por el Ingenio humano, en donde se respetaron todos los elementos, se miró hacia el futuro y se construyó un entorno resistente al paso del tiempo, capaz de adaptarse a las nuevas circunstancias y visualmente hermoso.
