Hello dear #ShadowHunters community,

This is my entry for the ShadowHunters SMASh contest number 429.

One of the things I enjoy most about observing shadows is that they are never completely predictable.

Sometimes a shadow simply reproduces the shape of an object. Other times, however, several shadows meet and combine in such a way that they create something entirely different from their original forms.

That is what caught my attention in this scene.

I was looking at a building that has a decorative wall structure on its rooftop. By itself, the structure already creates interesting geometric shapes when illuminated by the sun. But on that particular day, something more happened.

The shadow projected by the decorative wall mixed with the shadows of nearby trees.

The result was a composition that seemed almost accidental, yet surprisingly harmonious. The straight lines of the building's structure merged with the irregular forms of branches and leaves, creating a new image on the surface below.

It was difficult to focus on a single element because the shadows had stopped belonging to their original sources.

Instead, they became part of a larger composition.

The geometry of the architecture and the organic forms of nature worked together, blurring the boundary between one shadow and another. Looking at the scene, I found myself trying to identify where one ended and the next began.

The longer I observed, the more interesting it became.

What had started as separate objects—a decorative wall and a few trees—had been transformed by sunlight into a completely different visual experience.

Moments like this remind me that shadows are not merely copies of reality.

They can interact, overlap and even create forms that do not exist in the physical world around them. In a way, they tell a second story about the objects that cast them.

That is why I decided to photograph this scene.

Because for a brief moment, architecture, nature and sunlight worked together to create an image that existed only through shadow.

Hola querida comunidad de #ShadowHunters,

Esta es mi entrada para el concurso ShadowHunters SMASh número 429.

Una de las cosas que más disfruto al observar las sombras es que nunca son completamente predecibles.

A veces una sombra simplemente reproduce la forma del objeto que la proyecta. Otras veces, sin embargo, varias sombras se encuentran y se mezclan de tal manera que terminan creando algo diferente a las formas originales.

Eso fue precisamente lo que llamó mi atención en esta escena.

Estaba observando una edificación que tiene en la azotea un muro decorativo. Por sí sola, esa estructura ya produce formas interesantes cuando recibe la luz del sol. Pero aquel día ocurrió algo más.

La sombra proyectada por el muro se mezclaba con las sombras de varios árboles cercanos.

El resultado era una composición que parecía casi accidental y, al mismo tiempo, sorprendentemente armoniosa. Las líneas rectas de la estructura se unían a las formas irregulares de las ramas y las hojas, creando una nueva imagen sobre la superficie donde se proyectaban.

Era difícil concentrarse en un solo elemento porque las sombras habían dejado de pertenecer únicamente a sus fuentes originales.

Ahora formaban parte de una composición mayor.

La geometría de la arquitectura y las formas orgánicas de la naturaleza trabajaban juntas, difuminando el límite entre una sombra y otra. Mientras observaba la escena, intentaba descubrir dónde terminaba una y comenzaba la siguiente.

Cuanto más tiempo la observaba, más interesante me parecía.

Lo que había comenzado siendo objetos separados —un muro decorativo y algunos árboles— había sido transformado por la luz del sol en una experiencia visual completamente diferente.

Momentos como este me recuerdan que las sombras no son simples copias de la realidad.

También pueden interactuar, superponerse e incluso crear formas que no existen físicamente a nuestro alrededor. De cierta manera, cuentan una segunda historia sobre los objetos que las producen.

Tal vez por eso decidí fotografiar esta escena.

Porque por un instante, la arquitectura, la naturaleza y la luz del sol trabajaron juntas para crear una imagen que solo existía a través de las sombras.
