Hello dear #ShadowHunters community,

This is my entry for the ShadowHunters SMASh contest number 428.

Hospitals are places where time seems to move differently.

There is always movement, urgency, voices in the distance, footsteps crossing the corridors and the constant feeling that something requires immediate attention. Even during the quietest hours, the pressure never completely disappears.

For that reason, there are small moments that become unexpectedly valuable.

Inside one of the bathrooms at the hospital there are two simple chairs placed against the wall. Sometimes, when I enter there for a moment, I sit down briefly just to breathe and disconnect mentally from everything happening outside that door.

It is not really rest, but rather a short pause.

On this occasion, while sitting there for a few seconds, I noticed something I had never paid attention to before. The dim light from an old lamp hanging from the ceiling projected the shadow of both chairs onto the floor.

The scene was extremely simple.

Two ordinary chairs, an aging light bulb and the silence of that small space hidden within the hospital. Yet the shadows created a very calm atmosphere, almost isolated from the tension that usually fills the building.

The weak yellowish light softened the edges of the shadows, making them appear slightly blurred on the floor.

The chairs themselves looked old and common, but their shadows seemed more expressive somehow. Side by side, they almost looked like silent figures resting together beneath the hanging lamp.

I remained there for a brief moment observing them.

Sometimes, in places filled with stress and responsibility, even the smallest details can unexpectedly create a sense of calm. A corner, a dim light, a shadow on the floor — things that normally would not attract attention suddenly become meaningful when the mind is exhausted.

Perhaps that is why the image stayed with me.

Because in the middle of the pressure and noise of hospital life, those two shadows felt strangely peaceful.

That is why I decided to photograph them.

Because even inside a hospital bathroom, light and shadow can quietly create a moment worth remembering.

Hola querida comunidad de #ShadowHunters,

Esta es mi entrada para el concurso ShadowHunters SMASh número 428.

Los hospitales son lugares donde el tiempo parece avanzar de manera diferente.

Siempre hay movimiento, urgencia, voces a la distancia, pasos recorriendo los pasillos y esa sensación constante de que algo necesita atención inmediata. Incluso durante las horas más tranquilas, la presión nunca desaparece del todo.

Por eso existen pequeños momentos que terminan adquiriendo un valor inesperado.

Dentro de uno de los baños del hospital hay dos sencillas sillas colocadas junto a la pared. A veces, cuando entro allí unos minutos, me siento un instante solamente para respirar y desconectarme mentalmente de todo lo que ocurre fuera de esa puerta.

No es realmente descanso, sino una pequeña pausa.

En esta ocasión, mientras permanecía allí unos segundos, noté algo a lo que nunca antes había prestado atención. La tenue luz de una vieja lámpara colgando del techo proyectaba la sombra de ambas sillas sobre el suelo.

La escena era extremadamente simple.

Dos sillas comunes, una bombilla envejecida y el silencio de ese pequeño espacio escondido dentro del hospital. Sin embargo, las sombras creaban una atmósfera muy tranquila, casi aislada de la tensión que normalmente llena el edificio.

La luz débil y amarillenta suavizaba los bordes de las sombras, haciendo que se vieran ligeramente difusas sobre el piso.

Las sillas en sí parecían viejas y corrientes, pero sus sombras transmitían algo más expresivo. Una al lado de la otra, casi parecían figuras silenciosas descansando juntas bajo la lámpara.

Me quedé observándolas por un breve momento.

A veces, en lugares llenos de estrés y responsabilidad, incluso los detalles más pequeños pueden crear inesperadamente una sensación de calma. Un rincón, una luz tenue, una sombra sobre el suelo… cosas que normalmente pasarían desapercibidas de pronto adquieren significado cuando la mente está cansada.

Tal vez por eso esa imagen se quedó conmigo.

Porque en medio de la presión y el ruido de la vida hospitalaria, aquellas dos sombras transmitían una tranquilidad extraña.

Y por eso decidí fotografiarlas.

Porque incluso dentro del baño de un hospital, la luz y la sombra pueden crear silenciosamente un momento digno de ser recordado.
