Winter Yenisei and the former parking lot of the river fleet
Hello, friends.
The January frosts have receded a little, although at night the temperature is still about -30 degrees Celsius, during the day it is noticeably warmer. Having missed flying a drone, I took advantage of the slight thaw and went to the bank of the Yenisei River.
As I already said, the Yenisei River in our area does not freeze even in the deepest frosts, and the reason for this is that relatively warm water flows into the river through the dam from a depth of several tens of meters from the Sayano-Shushenskoye reservoir.
Not far from the place where I launched the drone is the village of Selivanikha. Once upon a time, about thirty years ago, there was a river fleet base in the village, and most of the residents of the village were associated with work in the river fleet.
Only the remains of the gateway, designed to protect the backwater with wintering ships from changes in water level in the Yenisei, remind of these times.
Previously, the entire backwater was filled with wintering ships and barges. Here they were prepared for a new navigation. Now the former workshops of the river fleet base are used for the production of flour and animal feed.
The water in the backwater, unlike the Yenisei River, freezes in winter. The ice of the backwater is dotted with fingerprints; these are winter fishing enthusiasts going to their favorite places. It is believed that the closer to the boundary of ice and open water, the better the fish are caught.
A flying dove accidentally came into the frame; it is in the upper left corner. I think the pigeons are very happy that some strange river fleet has been replaced by mills and feed mills.
In this picture you can see a fisherman, he is in the middle at the bottom of the photo. As you can see, the fisherman has come quite close to the boundary of ice and water, he wants to catch a lot of pike, peled and bream, but mostly perches and ruffs are caught.
Having completed the flight around the former river fleet site, the drone returns to the take-off point. The photo shows Mount Samokhval. You probably noticed that visibility is not very good; the entire horizon is hidden in haze. This is our winter problem, we live in a large basin and in the cold season, in calm weather, smog accumulates.

Friends, thank you for your attention, see you soon.
Best regards @irvet
Very nice shots. Looks very similar to here in Vermont this time of year. It's been a little warm lately, so the ice fishermen not out much here yet but will be soon. Looks dangerous with so much of it still melted! Every year there are at least one or two folks up here that fall through the ice, even though if they wait a little longer, it will soon be safe to drive their trucks, ATV's and fishing shanties out onto the middle of the lake.
Alas, fishermen do not use common sense
We have a saying “fishing is worse than bondage”, it means that a fisherman is not free to control his destiny when it comes to his passion - fishing

Beautiful report @irvet
Brave to fly in this weather conditions, specially for batteries that don't work properly at this temperature levels.
Thanks for sharing and showing this particular location.
@xaviduran thank you
yes, the cold is not the best time to fly a drone
