Shadow Hunters /SMASh Contest- Round 255 |The shadow of the bridge over the River Kwai
Hello, dear friends.
A few years ago, my daughter and I went on a trip to Thailand. One of the tourist spots of inner Thailand is the bridge over the River Kwai, built during the Japanese occupation by the forces of prisoners of war.

This bridge became famous in 1957, after the release of David Lin's film "The Bridge over the River Kwai", based on the novel of the same name by Pierre Boule.

Thousands of tourists from all over the world began to come to Kanchanaburi province to see the famous bridge on the River Kwai. But the real bridge was built across the Mekong River, Pierre Boule made a mistake in his novel (or maybe he specifically chose the name of another river that he liked).

To eliminate this discrepancy, the Thai authorities officially renamed the Mae Klong River into the Kwae Yai River.
