Poleski National Park
I recently mentioned a spontaneous trip to Polesie, to Polesie National Park. Polesie is a geographical and historical region located mainly within the territories of present-day Belarus and Ukraine, and partly within Poland and Russia. Groundwater lying just below the surface forms shallow lakes and vast marshes. Polesie is crisscrossed by numerous rivers, and in some places, among the marshes, there are slightly higher moraine and glacial-fluvial plains, as well as stabilized dunes. Nearly half of the area is covered by marshes and associated peatland complexes. Polesie National Park was established in 1990.

Wspominałem niedowno o spontanicznym wyjeździe na Polesie, do Poleskiego Parku Narodowego. Polesie to kraina geograficzna i historyczna, zlokalizowana głównie na terytorium obecnej Białorusi i Ukrainy oraz częściowo Polski i Rosji. Wody gruntowe zalegające tuż pod powierzchnią tworzą płytkie jeziora i rozległe bagna. Na terenie Polesia występują liczne rzeki, a miejscami wśród bagien nieco wyższe równiny morenowe i lodowcowo-wodne oraz utrwalone wydmy. Blisko połowę powierzchni zajmują bagna i związane z nimi kompleksy torfowisk. Poleski Park Narodowy utworzono w 1990 roku.
We woke up at 3:30 a.m., left half an hour later, and after a two-hour drive, we arrived at our destination. First up: the “Perehod” trail. The trail is about 5 km long and leads through the Podworskie Ponds, established in the late 19th century by the owner of the manor in Pieszowola. The pond complex covers an area of about 120 ha. It consists of the following ponds: Głęboki, Piskornik, Graniczny, Dziki, Duża Zośka, Pniaki, Mała Zośka, Górny Horodyszcz, Dolny Horodyszcz, Pyrchów, Podgrusze, Żabi, Perehod, and Wyhary.
I took the first of the photos shown here at 7:24 a.m.; there was still quite a bit of fog, as you can see in this photo of the cormorant. Nikon D850 with Tamron 150-600 G2 @600mm, f/7.1; 1/4000 sec

Two minutes later, the same cormorant was already perched on a tree. Settings were the same as before: ISO 800
==================================
A few minutes later, another stop—this time with different birds in front of the lens. I’d rather not try to guess the species of this goose. Focal length 500 mm,
ISO 800, f/6.3; 1/3200 sec,

Ogniskowa 500mm,
ISO 800, f6,3; 1/3200sec,
Three minutes later, this bird appeared—a great white egret, which probably needs no introduction. 600mm, f/8; 1/1600 sec
=============================
Trzy minuty później pojawił sie taki oto osobnik, czapla biała, której chyba nie trzeba przedstawiać. 600mm, f8; 1/1600sec

After another minute, the heron decided to move to a different spot
===========================
Po kolejnej minucie czapla postanowiła zmienić miejsce pobytu

More photos coming soon. I’m not listing the settings for all the photos because I don’t think there’s much point—the ISO was the same throughout, the focal length was generally 600 mm, and I used matrix metering with exposure compensation. Basic editing was done in Lightroom.
