Attending a ceremony with friends
Hello family and friends of hive. I want to share some memories we had when I attended the burial ceremony of my former boss’s mother, a solemn yet Joyful occasion held in my area of residence.
After the solemn ceremony, we joined friends and acquaintances for the reception party. In this part of the world, it's usually a big party held by the family members especially when the person is a very old man or woman who has lived a long and fulfilled life. I was accompanied by a friend and we had been invited by a former colleague from the same school where we all once worked.
The atmosphere was both respectful, reflective and at the end enjoyable with family, friends, and former coworkers coming together to honor a life well lived. There was an outfit for the occasion and we each got ours to make for that day.
It was fun memories meeting with many former colleagues and my boss' children and grandchildren were also present. They shared many fond memories of their dear mother, grandma and great grandmother it was so lovely to see.
Attending the ceremony with someone who had also known her through the lens of our professional circle made the experience more grounded and meaningful. It reminded me how the bonds formed at work can extend beyond workplace into life’s most significant moments and we all came in our colorful outfit which made everyone pleasantly surprised.
The gathering also provided a chance for me to reconnect with other old colleagues and reflect on shared memories.
We had lots of hugs, good meals, catching up, fun discussions and photographs.
You guys look so beautiful, see my friend Anitaconcern, it's always good to have fun with friends and family once in a while.
Sure all work and no fun makes me a dull gal😁
