Wednesday Walk | Heading to Village Forest, Aceh
My post last week, was telling about the time I spent with my friend boyhaqie (@teukuboyhaqie) on a Pasir Hitam Beach. So for this week's story, I'm going to share a story about my journey to get into a Village forest located in Pidie Regency, Aceh Province.
I went there with boyhaqie and some other workmates. Our purpose is to see how the condition around the Village Forest is. So our first checkpoint after getting down from the car is a place where surrounded by a huge banyan tree. This is probably one of the biggest trees I've ever seen in my life. I don't even get enough space to get a proper angle to capture the whole part of this plant.

I mean just look out at the hanging root, it's even as big as the main trunk of regular trees. I'm so amazed by the view offered by the nature right in front of me. As there are a lot of big trees in my surroundings, the air quality was even in very good condition.
We continue the rest of the trip by walking on a trail pathway. Just about 10 minutes after walking, another amazing scenery lies in front of us. A landscape view of mountains, greenery, and rice field completely stunned me.

We make a stop to enjoy this scenery and greet female farmers who are planting rice. After having a short break, we continue our trip heading to the Village Forest. Anyway, all the sceneries and places that I've shared before is considered as the buffer zone by the local people. In that place, the local people could still utilize all the resources within the area, even open some rice fields like above or plant other fruits that could be harvested by them.
After 10 minutes of walking and the sun getting high, we decided to have a rest and lunch at the riverside. It was a small shallow river with a lot of rocks in the surroundings. We could also spot a lot of greenery around this river area.

It took about 1 hour for us to have lunch and also stretching our legs. As we are entering the Village Forest, the trail pathways are getting small and slippery. The trees are even getting bigger and denser. I don't really have time to capture some pictures inside the Village Forest area. I could only take two pictures within the area.

It was a very nice trip for me as I spent most of my time in the coastal area. Luckily I've prepared myself with some exercise before visiting this place so I don't really get and make trouble for other people who went there with me 😅.
That's all of my stories for the Wednesday walk this week. I hope you enjoy both the stories and the pictures. Please let me know if there is something that I need to improve for my other post. Thank you and see you in the next week. Have a nice day!

wow! what an awesome adventure and experience this has been to you and us while reading it felt like I was with you trekking in the dense forest and seeing this huge Balete tree or Banyan Tree. These trees are considered parasitic because they creep up on unsuspecting healthy trees, they wrap the trees around until the host tree dies.
I love the trek on the river, the untouched river so clean.
Thank you for aharing your adventures with us.
