Enjoying Sunday Afternoon at Syiah Kuala Beach, Aceh

Syiah Kuala Beach is located in the city of Banda Aceh and is visited by many people during holidays or weekends. The beach is only about 3 kilometers away from where I live, and this afternoon I decided to spend some free time at the beach. To reach this location, I rode a motorbike and arrived in less than 10 minutes.

Arriving at the beach, I noticed that not too many people were visiting. In my opinion, this was probably due to the very cloudy weather which was also coupled with quite strong winds. After looking around for a while, I looked for a place to sit and take pictures of the surroundings.

Along the long stretch of beach, there are several groups of people enjoying themselves. Some were walking and joking on the beach, some children were dancing and crashing into the waves, and there were also children playing on bicycles. Some people were also busy with their smartphones, either taking pictures or scrolling through social media.

Across the ocean, an island is clearly visible. The island is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Indonesia and is known as Weh/Sabang Island. Using my camera, I was able to capture some images of the boat crossing both to and from the island. In addition, there were also boats from traditional fishermen doing fishing activities.

The interesting thing that I found was that there were 2 pictures that I took at the same time but from different angles. The first picture is of a ferry departing from Sabang Island towards Banda Aceh with the sky still blue in the background, while the other picture is of a fishing boat that I took from the opposite side where the background of this picture has turned yellowish due to the sunlight slowly setting. After taking enough pictures and enjoying my time at the beach, I decided to head back to my place.
