Tracing the Middle Ages in Dourdan (Part 2)

After our peaceful walk along the path of the washhouses, we slowly make our way back toward the town center. Soon, we arrive in front of the fortress, the true centerpiece of Dourdan, impossible to miss as it towers over the heart of the town.
You can immediately feel the history it holds. We start with a first look around the outside, taking time to admire its impressive walls and medieval towers.
As noon approaches, we decide to come back this afternoon for a more in-depth visit inside, to fully immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of this historic place.

Après notre promenade bien bucolique le long du chemin des lavoirs, nous remontons tranquillement vers le centre-ville. Rapidement, nous arrivons devant le château fort, véritable pièce maîtresse de Dourdan, impossible à manquer tant il domine le cœur de la ville.
On sent tout de suite l’histoire qui s’en dégage. On commence par une première exploration des extérieurs, à prendre le temps d’admirer ses imposantes murailles et ses tours médiévales.
Devant l'approche de midi, nous décidons de revenir cet après-midi pour une visite plus approfondie de l’intérieur, histoire de plonger pleinement dans l’atmosphère de ce lieu chargé d’histoire.
