Every corner reveals a new surprise, whether it's the splendor of the Gouré Foundation, transformed into a welcoming home for the elderly, or the timeless elegance of the Natural History Museum, housed in a sumptuous 19th-century mansion. The Ursulines Chapel, built in the 17th century, offers a meditative pause, while Charles Surugue Square, home to the Post Office adorned with Art Nouveau motifs, evokes a unique blend of history and modernity. Every step in this town unveils a part of its rich heritage, making this getaway an enchantment for history and architecture enthusiasts.

Je persiste et signe : Auxerre a surpassé toutes mes attentes. Ce week-end, à déambuler dans les rues sinueuses de cette ville bourguignonne, a été un pur délice pour les sens. Chaque coin de rue révèle une nouvelle surprise, que ce soit la splendeur de la Fondation Gouré, transformée en un accueillant foyer pour personnes âgées, ou l'élégance intemporelle du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, logé dans une somptueuse demeure du XIX^ème siècle. La Chapelle des Ursulines, érigée au XVII^ème siècle, offre une pause méditative, tandis que la Place Charles Surugue, abritant la Poste ornée de motifs Art Nouveau, évoque un mélange unique d'histoire et de modernité. Chaque pas dans cette ville révèle une part de son riche patrimoine, faisant de cette escapade un enchantement pour les amateurs d'histoire et d'architecture.

In the 16th century, the "grandes écoles" of the city, the predecessor of the college that Bishop Jacques Amyot had moved to the Saint-Germain district, were established at this location.
