Over by the Asian garden of Maulévrier (Part 4)

We start our walk along the large pond, its surface harmoniously reflecting the trees and the Asian lanterns placed along the edge. The path takes us across small covered and uncovered bridges and past peaceful islands, until, at the very end, the impressive silhouette of the Maulévrier viaduct appears in the distance. Built in 1868, it once carried the railway line connecting Angers to Niort.

After this peaceful interlude in the heart of the park, we head to the shaded terrace, perfect for a gourmet break. Bordered by a pond where koi carp swim, it offers an ideal setting to enjoy a meal while soaking up the zen atmosphere that fills the place.

On commence notre balade le long de la grande pièce d’eau, dont la surface reflète harmonieusement les arbres et les lanternes asiatiques disposées au bord. Le chemin nous mène à travers de petits ponts couverts ou non et des îles tranquilles, jusqu’à ce que, tout au bout, se dessine dans le lointain la silhouette impressionnante du viaduc de Maulévrier, construit en 1868 pour la ligne de chemin de fer reliant autrefois Angers à Niort.

Après cette parenthèse paisible au cœur du parc, nous nous dirigeons vers la terrasse ombragée, idéale pour une pause gourmande. Bordée d’un bassin où nagent des carpes koï, elle offre un cadre parfait pour se restaurer tout en profitant de l’atmosphère zen qui imprègne ce lieu.
