Albania: A Rising Tourist Destination! (Part 32)

From the platform at the end of the path along the citadel, we have an extraordinary view of the city of Berat sprawling at our feet. Additionally, the mountains blend into the light mist that slowly rises from the verdant valleys. In this place, imbued with bucolic charm and mystery, every stone tells a story, every breath of wind carries whispers of the past, inviting deep reflection on the cultural richness and the imprint of time on this timeless landscape.

And what can be said about the Gorica neighborhood with its thousand windows (which we did not count!).

We must admit, we are a bit disappointed to be strolling around the citadel while missing out on Berat and Gorica. It was a small oversight by our guide (but we don't hold it against him) who should have balanced the itinerary better.

Depuis la plateforme au bout du chemin longeant la citadelle, nous avons une vue extraordinaire sur la ville de Berat qui s'étale à nos pieds. De plus, les montagnes se fondent dans la brume légère qui s'élève lentement des vallées verdoyantes. À cet endroit empreint de bucolisme et de mystère, chaque pierre raconte une histoire, chaque souffle de vent transporte les murmures du passé, invitant à une réflexion profonde sur la richesse culturelle et l'empreinte du temps dans ce paysage éternel.

Et que dire du quartier du quartier de Gorica avec ses mille fenêtres (que nous n'avons pas comptées !).

Il faut bien l'avouer, nous sommes un peu déçus de devoir nous promener dans le coin de la citadelle tout en zappant Berat et Gorica. C'est un petit raté de notre accompagnateur (mais nous ne lui en voulons pas du tout) qui aurait dû mieux équilibrer cette sortie.
