One Photo Series #36 - Spontaneous Sunset [Eng/Pl]

Many of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve had the chance to photograph were captured spontaneously — when I simply happened to have my camera with me during an ordinary car ride, after grocery shopping, or on my way home from work.

The photo I have for you today was also created by chance. My wife and I were returning from a visit to my parents. About halfway home, my attention was caught by the increasingly photogenic conditions forming in the sky. An exceptional sunset was clearly on its way.

We were tired and looking forward to some rest, but we decided to make a slight detour and head toward Lake Żywieckie. Those of you who follow my posts probably know that it’s one of my favorite places to photograph. I go there whenever I feel like heading out for a shoot but don’t have a specific idea in mind. The area offers so many great spots that all you really need to do is get in the car and stop wherever the light and conditions feel right at that moment.

That day, we stopped at my go-to location — the place where I most often take photos, near the small sandy beach that’s popular around the lake. We didn’t even make it all the way to the beach this time. We simply didn’t have enough time. The conditions suddenly exploded, and I didn’t want to miss it. I left my wife alone for a moment, grabbed my gear in a hurry, and ran through the narrow strip of forest from the parking lot down to the lakeshore.

For the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to photograph such a specific kind of sunset — the sky was gray, and the sun was breaking through narrow gaps in the clouds. It was a truly interesting experience.

Wiele z najpiękniejszych zachodów słońca, które miałem okazję fotografować, to te uchwycone spontanicznie — kiedy akurat miałem ze sobą aparat podczas zwykłej podróży samochodem, po zakupach czy w drodze z pracy.

Zdjęcie, które mam dzisiaj dla Was, także powstało w przypadkowych okolicznościach. Wracaliśmy z żoną po wizycie u moich rodziców. Będąc w połowie drogi, moją uwagę przykuły bardzo fotogeniczne warunki, które zaczynały się budować. Zapowiadał się wyjątkowy zachód słońca.

Byliśmy zmęczeni i chcieliśmy odpocząć, ale zdecydowaliśmy się jednak lekko zboczyć z kursu i udać się nad Jezioro Żywieckie. Kto śledzi moje posty, ten pewnie wie, że jest to jedno z moich ulubionych miejsc do fotografowania. Jeżdżę tam zawsze, kiedy mam chęć na fotograficzny plener, ale nie mam pomysłu na nic konkretnego. To miejsce oferuje tyle dogodnych punktów, że wystarczy po prostu wsiąść w samochód i zatrzymać się tam, gdzie akurat wyda się to odpowiednie przy aktualnych warunkach.

Tego dnia zatrzymaliśmy się w moim ulubionym miejscu pierwszego wyboru — tam, gdzie najczęściej fotografuję. W okolicy popularnej nad tym jeziorem małej, piaszczystej plaży. Do samej plaży jednak nie dotarliśmy. Nie zdążyliśmy. Warunki nagle eksplodowały i nie chciałem tego przegapić. Zostawiłem żonę na chwilę samą, w pośpiechu zabrałem sprzęt i pobiegłem przez wąski las z parkingu na brzeg jeziora.

Pierwszy raz w życiu miałem okazję fotografować tak specyficzny zachód słońca — niebo było szare, a słońce przebijało się przez szczeliny w chmurach. To było ciekawe przeżycie.
