One Photo Series #29 - Meal in the Alps

A meal in a mountain setting tastes different than in everyday situations and places. There is something primal and calm about it. This time, however, it’s not about me, but about a few exceptionally photogenic models I encountered during a hike to the Five Fingers viewpoint in the Austrian Alps.

Absorbed in the unhurried enjoyment of tasty, juicy green grass, they paid no attention to the presence of people. Tourists came and went, while they remained in their own rhythm—calm, focused, and completely unfazed. It didn’t bother them in the slightest that some foreigner was taking photos of them during their daily activity, one they—I dare assume—hold in particular affection.

There was an extraordinary sense of naturalness and harmony with the surroundings in this scene, something we humans often lack. That is why this photograph became my favorite frame from the entire trip—a beautiful mountain landscape enriched by creatures who savor it every day, just as they do the grass growing here.

Posiłek w górskiej scenerii smakuje inaczej niż w codziennych sytuacjach i miejscach. Jest w nim coś pierwotnego i spokojnego. Tym razem nie chodzi jednak o mnie, lecz o pewne niezwykle fotogeniczne modelki, które spotkałem podczas wyprawy na punkt widokowy Five Fingers w austriackich Alpach.

Zajęte niespiesznym spożywaniem smakowitej i soczystej zielonej trawy, zupełnie nie zwracały uwagi na obecność ludzi. Turyści przychodzili i odchodzili, a one trwały w swoim rytmie – spokojne, skupione i absolutnie niewzruszone. Nie przeszkadzało im nawet to, że jakiś obcokrajowiec robi im zdjęcia w trakcie ich codziennej czynności, którą – śmiem przypuszczać – darzą szczególną sympatią.

Była w tej scenie niezwykła naturalność i harmonia z otoczeniem, której często brakuje nam, ludziom. Właśnie dlatego to zdjęcie stało się moim ulubionym kadrem z całej wycieczki – piękny górski krajobraz wzbogacony o stworzenia, które delektują się nim na codzień, podobnie jak rosnącą tutaj trawą.
