On a Krakow Street - Monomad

Hello everyone! How are you tooday?

December 2019 was one of my many visits to Krakow. I spent the entire day exploring the city and took a lot of photos, including a few typical street shots. It was the pre-Christmas period, so Christmas markets were taking place in the city, and crowds of tourists were wandering the streets of Krakow.

Young Boy Playing the Accordion

A boy sat against the wall, playing the accordion. He was accompanied by a small dog wearing a doggie sweatshirt. Many people stopped to listen to him play, and he played beautifully.

Florianska Street

A photo showing the Christmas decorations adorning Floriańska Street leading towards Krakow's Main Market Square. At times, it was quite crowded.

Grodzka Street

Another street leading off the main square. Decorations were also hung here. Beautiful, long shadows were cast on the street's cobblestones. The use of a wide angle added an interesting, dynamic effect.

At the Gate of Wawel Castle

Four young boys walked briskly toward the castle gate. Here, too, interesting shadows and light appeared.

In the Krakow Cloth Hall

A very contrasting scene, with light coming from between the pillars supporting the vault.

Two Men Walking

One facing the camera, the other with their backs to it. Looking around, searching for something interesting to catch their attention.

The streets of Krakow are a great place for street photography. There's always a lot going on there, people lost in their thoughts and busy with their own affairs, oblivious to being photographed. Especially since it's a popular tourist destination. When taking street photos, I try to look as if I'm photographing architecture and to steal quick glances from the camera at people on the street.
