Market Friday at Ekiti West Local Market, Exploring the market for the first

Hello everyone it's #marketfriday, it's already weekend, so I decided to explore Ekiti West local market for the first since I came to the state in April. Visiting a place for the time, I was very keen to at first knowing my new environment and I heard so much about this very local market, the topographic of the place is amazing, so the market environment is surrounded by rocks, I've already fallen in love with the place so I decided to visit the market today. it's a local market as the market implies, it's mainly for food products, the state is more of agriculture than any other thing, the majority of the people are into agriculture but this doesn't make agricultural produces cheap either, they are supplying their farm produces to other states who are buying at higher prices from them, making the few ones they have left in the local market very costly and not much available.

it's called the Local Market because they only sell at the every four days which only lasted from 6:00 am to 10:00 am in the morning, just at after that time, you can't find anyone in the market and the whole place will be deserted, very silent as nothing as ever took place in it before. Meanwhile, I needed to stock the house with some food stuff since they'll no market till the next four days, fortunate enough, today happened to be a public holiday so made my way to the market as early as 7:00am. At first, I took a walk around the whole market to view how it looks like and ask some questions before start buying my things.

Certainly, one outstanding thing about these people is that they easily identify and recognize visitors and they sell to them differently, they tag different prices to things once they know you are a visitor, so as a smart guy that I am, I went along an indigent of the place who understood and speaks their language, my only work to be taking pictures and giving money once she done with pricing.

Meanwhile, I love meeting new people and exploring new environment, even after done with buying what I needed to buy on my market list, I had to spent some time in the market to study their own way of doing doing things but unfortunately, they don't have vegetables, we eat different vegetables in my state while they eat more of stew that why their market is full of fresh tomatoes, this stew serve as soup for them, unlike my state where we have different kinds of vegetables for soup. Also, they like pepper so much, at first I find it very difficult to cope with in my first one month as I was living in a family house and I had no choice than enjoy the stew and pepper by fire, by force.

I bought more fresh tomatoes because it's very cheap, I bought rice, melon, Palm Oil and Groundnut oil, I bought garri and beans, a pack of maggi and salt, fish, fortunate enough, I saw water leaf and bitter leaf so I'm cooking bitter leaf soup today, I bought other things, I can't imagine myself eating my local food too wow! I hope you will love my soup, I'm going to share it with you once I'm done. Thank you for supporting me, at still @inibless
